About this image

Lately I've been browsing other sites for free to use resources which could possibly
fit into the Elderscrolls game world. Surprisingly enough there are plenty of models
floating around out there.

This small series will showcase some of the diamonds in the rough that I've dug up:

#8: Here we have the final entry in my little picture show. On the left is a rather simple
Scarecrow model which came as a freebie from a 3d model site. As with most things
you get off of free model sites it was in .obj format as a single piece. Which requires
reformatting, breaking pieces apart, texturing, uv map adjustment, etc. Less than an
hour spent all told, and it looks not bad. On the right is another iron stove. This one
was a free to use resource for Skyrim. The textures came with it and look good so I
kept them. Basically just a format conversion and new collision on that one.

So to sum it up, this little bit is just the tip of the iceberg. There are lots of unique and
interesting models out there. Which can be converted and used to spice up the game.
For only the cost of a little time fixing them up. It takes a bit of browsing for sure. Most
3d modeling sites have a small selection of free models, but they change from day to day.
If you see something, grab it right then. Might not be there tomorrow.

If you are willing to spend even a few dollars, there are literally hundreds of interesting
models out there for $1 - $5. I haven't spent money on any myself but have been a
little tempted once or twice. If anyone is interested in knowing more about it,  happy
to pass along the websites I routinely browse.
