About this image

Messed around too much with the specular (you can tell with the lips) but got the shadows right this time which is really what I was going for. Step-by-step. The problem is getting the SweetFX settings similar to the OR settings as the OR lineages the curves in the brightness as well as the shadows. Happy mediums are not a thing here.

Massive thanks to Mahtawa for the knitting of hands here as well but I think in this pic the gloves take care of that. Removed the seam of the neck too and used blender and GIMP to get an overall skin texture. I've applied gloss to the body nifs but it's hard to tell in this screenshot. Also cheated a bit with Imperial textures from OCO to get a better Upperbody and Lowerbody. Shadow blurring is now my ultimate enemy. I WILL beat you!

I've used no external program to get it even this good but I'm aware of what I need to do. Normally I just heighten the glow or change the curves and luminescence. So this is raw. It helps me so I know what I've done wrong.

^and that's how we do custom characters.
Mess with face textures, take random good hgec body texture and match colors and stuff.. (and hide bugs with enb.. i mean fix.. yes)
After that its minor slidering again until the face looks good enough.

I will sound like an a** here but finally theres someone who took steps to make unique character instead of asking for presets XD

      Haha, the enb 'fixes' things...:P

Your comment right there is exactly the reason I'm keeping up with this. Making a bespoke character isn't just following any given 'rules' and I've finally realised not only is there a limit on what you can do but also the tools you use can actually hinder you if you use too much of them. Naturally, my toying around has made me understand how each map works and the relationship to their meshes. Cheers for the advice - you're definitely not an a**. Far from it :)
