An excerpt from "The Legends of the Forgotten, by Story Teller Odothus"

"The Mechanica Aranea, a wonder of the old world, a time before Magick.

The Legends say that it was created by a Mage and a Technologist working together to protect their home, Broken Bridges City, a home for Tech-Mages, a home for outcasts.
A home that is said to be over a thousand years old, a place just out of reach, but so close, seen but unseen.

The Mechanica Aranea lays a layer of webbing and waits for any vibrations of potential threats, Mages.
No one knows how it can distinguish between a Mage and Tech-Mage, they say a Tech-Mage's Magick vibrates at a different frequency than that of a Mage.

Once it detects a Mage it stalks them, waiting for the right moment to strike. Once it has caught a Mage it feeds on their Magick, refuelling their Power Cells in the process.

Some say it can deflect Magick, much like our Flow Disruption Shields. Some say it simply absorbs the Magick.
Others claim to have seen it take orders from the Tech-Mage Hanna, one of the founders of Broken Bridges City, or that it is a lost construct.

But I, Odothus, am a simple story teller, there are many legends and rumours that make great stories, but some are true.

It is up to you to figure out which stories are true and which are works of the Imagination.

I will finish on some questions,

Have you ever seen something out the corner of your eye?
Ever heard a sound that you can't explain?
Felt the presence of an unseen entity?

You may well have had a brief glimpse of Broken Bridges City, or possibly been stalked by the Mechanica Aranea or worse caught the attention of a Doom Knight."
