About this image

No idea what the explanation of this really is.  Countess was sitting on her throne like everything was normal, while the dining hall behind her was engulfed in flames.

This happens in the "Heart of the Dead" mod but it is Not random, but is part of the story.

Ah. Well, I did install that, and did a small part of it. Would be nice if the story part actually kicked in. It's not very believable that the dining room in Bruma Castle is in flames and people are just standing/sitting around like nothing untoward is happening. Ha ha. Guess I need to get back into HotD and see what's going on.

I've raised the conflict with AoG's author; as roblesstevena mentions above, it seems to be AoG lighting management option that is turning on the HotD flames too soon.

I can help source this issue, since I've run into it when translating the Desert Alik'r mod: there's a nomad's camp and a city that catch on fire as part of the MQ: the fires are "already there" but disabled, and activated via script. However...AoG has a light control feature meant to disable/enable light sources like flames depending on the time of day. So HotD's fire is getting activated prematurely by AoG...there's just no easy way to fix it.

Well, excluding particular cells would probably be the fix, I would think, but I have not studied the AoG codebase in any detail.

Very tragic, 10/10 would cry again.

After reloading a save, one of my companions even showed up on fire for a while:
