About this image
for once I have a little time on my hands so I modding MERP which needs some love.
There is a lot to fix, hundreds of floating rocks and trees. water planes missing etc.
still it is a labour of love...here I have added about 120 drifting mist models to the dead marshes near the black gate of Mordor. It really does give it an ominous mood in game. I am going to add a few of my effects but it will take time as middle earth landmass is huge.
It is possible I may release it one day as an extension of Merp although I doubt that many people have it installed these days....

Anyway, your love is great to enhance this great mod abandonned for an unknown reason. Can't wait to see your always excelent work.

Oh, the "unknown reason" has been detailed on moddb.org.
Great -- now you've managed to get me hungry; I feel like misusing my laptop for that very reason.
Oh, how I wish I had more spare time to play the same way with Ubanga (btw. Al currently seems to be busy with something else, too). I'm really grateful to guys who have made such beautiful lands, and left enough room in them for other modders to play with adding extra content.
You're always on my mind, as I trample your work all the time, and I do it with pleasure XD.
I have found my MERP on moddb. Nothing near as large as Dennywood's, though. (Mine is ~ 2.3 GB uncompressed).
Alimal. -- I'm still trying to keep up with his work in Ubanga's mainland. Never been to Fasari. Or Halios (except for glimpse by cheat).
It is a wonderful place to wander. Sadly, on my installation, it got ever crashier the more I wandered to the East. I never saw the Lonely Mountain.
* For floating trees there is a Coda script, that drops them to the ground. Just let it run overnight. Some trees still need a correction by hand: If a tree happens to land on a sloping ground, its roots might stretch into thin air on the valley side. But at least it's not such an eyesore anymore.
* Problem is with floating rocks. Almost all big rocks are carefully placed to shape the landscape, many have their "center of gravity" (don't know how to put it) below the landscape surface. Automatically dropping them to the ground (like pressing the 'F' key in the CS) would send them into Nirvana. It's really not an option.
* So, chances are, that automatically grounding floating trees would plant some of them onto floating rocks.
* This technique with the Coda script is not restricted to trees. Flora should work just fine.
* The script is on the assimilation lab, but since then shademe has added a function that makes it less cumbersome to operate.
PM if you like.
rocks are a problem there are around 200 floating in the air on the big hill south of Bree.
I don't have any crashes...only have a couple of mods in addition to Merp base files.
The cs crashes a lot and the one that comes with the game does not even launch..
I don't see the script...could you point me at it please?
For some reason I cant message you.....

It's HUGE, and hidden by the "spoiler".
There are now the Coda functions:
GetCellUseList
GetDataHandlerFormList
One doesn't have to copy all the cell form IDs by hand.
