About this image

curious to see how my textures look in MERP, i have revisited the mod. after a bit of jigging around I finally got it to load. Time for a wander..............

Hmm needs some animals and insects...people nah...

edit...

i thought i would re load this as i wanted to see my textures in middle earth, the last time i played this mod it was with vanilla. now it looks amazing, however...
the downloads on here and the modb page appear to be corrupted and unworkable, but i found an old archive on a laptop i used to use and simply copied the esm, esp's and bsa's set my load order and bashed it all. i updated with the update installer..oblivion would not run...deleted the new ini and renamed the oblivion ini.oblivion.ini (the backup the installer places) to oblivion.ini and it started up fine. I wonder if the file size is the reason it corrupts? anyway i may mod this with a few animals and correctly place the rivendell buildings...they are in the archive but do not appear. I may seek permission to upload the resources somewhere so others can enjoy this huge worldspace. One problem is if you have ubanga and xul mods installed you cannot run teslodgen, it runs out of memory even when patched although you can do it in 2 hits if you get what i mean.

Shame WB sent a cease and desist order to the mod makers as seeing how well MERP was done.

Yes although it could be uploaded under a different name...i dont think it was ever going to be like the films especially the oblivion version. The skyrim version was mainly killed by a bug, this version doesnt need a storyline just a huge place to explore, so much could still be done with it.

I might be wrong, but I think this was abandoned because skyrim was coming out, so the team went to do ME for skyrim--the desist order was for skyrim (and maybe oblivion). Doesn't reallymatter--what would be great would be to get it working

yes i think skyrims popularity and game of the year status ensured that MERP was percieved as a threat. there is a landmass bug in skyrim which put an end to the project though it could not have continued in its present form and many of the team had left by the time it was encountered.

I'd love to see something more done with this. I've tried to use MERP and I'm getting big exclamation points/yellow cubes everywhere and missing LODs. Really sad.
