I'm working on a new texture for trash in Ubanga. Rotting fish heads, bones, broken pottery, spoiled food, and some dirty rags - more or less what people in times like those may have discarded. BTW. these colours remind me of Hieronymus Bosch, however bold it sounds :D
Ah-hah! This looks good. I always sort of loved the filth (in a disgusted way, don't know how to put this) in Ubanga's slums and in the ports and dead waters and so on. But the colours stood out a little bit too much. I have often tried to capture it in photographs but it never worked out. Now there is hope!
One thing that disturbs me in the original textures are these blue patches that look like plastic bags 0_o It's hard to imagine they use plastic in Ubanga - it's one of the last unpolluted places in the world after all. I too love Al's idea to place waste outside dwellings - realism rules
Thank you Runa. Somehow I expected you'll be among these who appreciate it Thank everyone for endorsements, too.
If I could paint I'd love to create a series of such paintings - and probably die starving, but what the hell, I can't paint deers anyway, besides deers are not half as interesting.
Ha ha, Yes, I really like the look of rusty objects and heaps of garbage in this game, like the broken barrels, boxes and weeds. And your work is great, I think!
