It's on my list of top destinations I'm going to visit as soon as we no longer need visas to move about in your part of the world. Woo hoo... just now found out I can have those emoticon faces appear from text. I typed the colon and a parentheses and the smily face appeared. Now if I could only figure out how to do the rude ones....
... For basic smilies supported by the Nexus you have to type things like ": cool :" without spaces or quotes. This will produce this smilie
If you are feeling evil ": devil :" again no quotes or spaces... To see the full list the Nexus offers open a fake PM (you don't intend to send) click the use full editor button, then the smilies icon, then see all. A pop-up will appear with the full list, including the text equivalent for each smilie.
