Ger's Black Hole Overhaul 1.2 (ORIGINS UPDATE COMPATIBLE).

The black holes in No Mans Sky look fantastic from a distance. Then you get closer and notice a horrendous low-poly ring with fairy light-like stars inside of it. Then for some reason it's full of light and lens flares once travelling through it? Uh, it's a black hole guys.

Thankfully, this mod fixes this.

In the effort to create a more immersive experience for travelling through black holes, the halo, inner stars, warp stars and warp flares have been removed. This means that the black hole can only be visible if there is Nebulae behind the hole, if the sun is by it, if you catch its prism effect, or if you scan using your ship.

Obviously with a black hole, there should be light at the event horizon, and in a perfect world it would be fantastic if the edges could warp the space behind it, but seeing as that's not possible, this works out far better than the rubbish that HelloGames have put into place for the existing black holes.
Travelling into the black hole is now far, far more immersive (and quite intimidating now).

See for yourself!

Notes:

  • Updated to v1.2 to work with Origins.
  • If you're wondering why my graphics look a little better, it's due to a custom ReShade that I've made myself, which can be found here.
  • Recommended for use with 'Black Space' or 'Black Space With Nebulae' mods, as shown in the screenshots/video.

Installation:

Simply place into your MODS folder (create one if it doesn't exist) in 'PCBANKS' in your game directory, and remove the 'disablemods.txt' file in the game directory.

Any issues, leave a comment but I respond much quicker via email, which you'll see through my profile.

Happy trails!
