I think this doesn't work anymore in Beyond. Game now looks disgusting. Water is disgusting again. Space is not black anymore as well... all cool mods that actually made game looks decent are killed now and we are back to most disgusting looking game ever.
i totally agree...the water has ALWAYS driven me mad! why cant hello games get it right its such an important visual of the game, ruins it for me as I love exploring and finding beautiful plants..can this mod be updated...PLEASE? im begging ....
Hi, While it's nice to have transparent water, I find the water color to be a bit strange especially when looking at oceans from space. It is too turquoise for me, do you think it is possible to make it more "deep blue" like while keeping the clear transparency ? Also i would add that the water appears flater than in vanilla , it's harder to notice the waves. This video sequence explains what I mean : https://youtu.be/TT4mua4rqes?t=268 Good mod otherwise !
Yes, I was wondering same thing. I like more transparent water, but that azure colour change wasn't my imagination of general water look too. So I unpacked the mod and reverted RBG colour changes inside of GCGRAPHICSGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN. Now I have original water colour with nice transparency :)
Sorry for the long wait as I have been having mental problems, but yes I can change the colors easily without problem. Unless you have already been helped of course.
Sorry for late response. I've been caught up with college work and I haven't gotten a chance to look here, but it's great to hear someone is on it. Have fun, and thanks for the compliment
Yes it is sydney666/Tony, i'm surprised you didn't read my last comment advising people to use them together for a nicer water experiment like. ;)
While "Crystal Clear Water" is modifyng GCGRAPHICSGLOBALS.GLOBALS.MBIN & GCWATERGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN, "Coastal Waters" is modifying SHADERS\CODE\CUSTOM\WATERRAYTRACEFRAGMENT.SHADER.H.BIN.
So you're good to go with them both, indeed no one should play without these two Mods paired together. It makes the water so much nicer, natural and smoother around the edges . :)
Haha thanks. Sorry I didn't see the replies as I eventually figured it out myself once I got a mod merging program and came up to scratch with NMS modding. My old brain only knew how to mod Skyrim until a few weeks ago.
So you don't like endorsements, well that's fine but you might still want to let people know which file(s) you've been modifying in the description, as to avoid conflicting Mods & useless bugs report/comment related. ;)
The way i understand it it's a way for people to show their appreciation and to give your Mod more visibility by climbing up the Top Files, Most Endorsed ones and Hot Mods, the Vote is for Mods of the Month.
Thanks for the modified files, unfortunately for me i will have to choose between yours and Reduced Brightness 1.1 for NEXT by Lo2k, since you're both modifying "GCGRAPHICSGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN" and i didn't bring myself yet to enjoy the Moding Station by Tub0Crisco & MBINCompiler by monkeyman192. Or XMM - MOD MERGE by Xodarap777. What a lazy bum hey...
For now i'm fooling around with No Mans Sky Save Editor (NMSSE) by GoatFungus, mainly to rearrange the inventories. One step at a time, i'm sort of a monotask kind of guy... ;)
HG reduced the brightness effect for NEXT and I checked the reduced brightness mod to vanilla and even the darker nights one and there was barely any difference. I feel having clear water makes the game look nicer. lol
Thanks for the heads up sydney666 ! I must say that doing stuff for Apollo on an irradiated planet and exploring it (since i've downloaded "Reduced Brightness" ) might not be the best place to notice the difference of brightness. ;) So i might just follow your advice and go for some nicer water then.
I would love to talk to lo2k but he is close to rayrod. its best to let it settle first before anything. I could figure out how to alter brightness myself.
That's it, i've done it a few days ago, i've merged them together with XMM - MOD MERGE by Xodarap777, and i finally landed on a planet with water (since the merge).
Wow such nice improvement over Vanilla ! Even if the water colors aren't procedural yet that still looks way better IMHO.
I would urge any user of this beautiful Mod to couple it with Coastal Waters for an optimal visual rendition.
How does this affect planets with different colored water? Also is there any performance impact?
EDIT: Decided to test it out and wow! No performance loss and the water is beautiful. Especially in caves. Downside is that all water is now blue. Also it isn't compatible with a couple other mods, but merging can solve that. If the author of this mod can add back other water colors this mod would be perfect. As of now, I'd still say this is a must have.
Add back water colors? I thought every planet had blue water, then again I'm still on first galaxy. Sadly though rayrod is saying I'm flat out copying his so I'm gonna keep the whole updating thing from happening till things clear up. I will work on it though and test, just need to know what you mean other water colors.
Yeah I know it's all bull. He's just a tad bit too sensitive about mods. I can understand why, but it scares away new modders who find the same joy in modding as he does. He likes to do big overhauls, which is fine, but it means a lot of mods are similar to his. I do hope things get better.
Also forgot to mention, pink water that wasn't clear was a glitch that happened from the mod being outdated, if that's what you meant then I had to fix it. I can however make a different color water mod for you. Just need to know how you want me to send it
Ah okay! I really thought there were just other colors lol. It's no big deal, blue water looks fine with your mod. But yeah, please keep this updated, this and the coastal water mod are perfect. I hate the big overhaul mods, only need a few.
I do plan on learning how to make water colors procedural, as in every planet has different water colors. This could take a while, and if it isn't successful I'll just make different colored water types available for download.

edit : nevermind, I can't edit the file... If one of you can upload a "deep blue" version I would be grateful
Thank you very much, your mod is beautiful, essential. ;-)
EDIT: Resolved, trevix already informed that he will make a compatible version.

Nice Mod though.

Also rayrod doesn't have a mod that only makes clear water so that accusation is ridiculous.
