About this mod

Retexture (s) of the Freighter Hangar with four different themes & done semi-modularly so that you can mix and match. A ton of add-ons are also included for even more customization. Not your normal makeover... :-)

Happy to be releasing this today as I’ve spent a fair amount of time developing this.

First, I want to start of by paying major kudos to Gumsk for their gLight Better Ship Lighting mod, as for without it I would have never bothered attempting this one in the first place. Also, thank you for being gracious enough to allow me to to include the freighter hangar portion of that mod into this one, because to be honest, that is the true foundation of this mod. :-) This is also the part where I mention that I've included in this mod a slightly modified version that has a mixture of red and white lights on the landing pad. Because of the reduction of white lights, I had to tweak the lights a bit more but tried to do so while respecting Gumsk's original work as much as possible. Keeping the same train of thought, I did not and will not provide a lua script for that version but as always, you can find a script embedded into the original version.

NOTE: For the red light modified version of Gumsk's Better Ship Lighting Mod, you MUST have No Bloom Effect installed otherwise it will NOT look right. This wasn't intentional but rather a consequence of tweaking it with that mod installed.

My roadmap for the future of this mod is to eventually build it into something that would allow you to customize your hangar from within your hangar - similar to the vanilla freighter customization terminal found in the bridge, but with way more options. That is still a long ways away though for my technical ability, so this is the next best thing in my eyes.

This mod comes as:

  •  4 Freighter Hangar Themes (with more planned in the future):

- [Red Caligo], [Blue Caligo], [White Futura], [Gray Futura]

  •  4 Matching "Backplates" (didn't know what else to call it, heh.) - reasoning behind modulating this is that I'm eventually going to produce more abstract designs as well as changing the glass of the doors.

  •  4 Matching Front Doors (with more planned)

  •  5 Landing Pads:

[Blue Caligo], [Chrome Futura], [Golden Pad V1], [Golden Pad V2], [Red Caligo]

  •  3 Hangar Cranes:

[Black], [Chrome], [Gold]

  •  8 Entrance Beams:

[White], [Red], [Blue], [Yellow], [Green], [Orange], [Rainbow], [Deleted]

  •  10 Custom Dock Numbers (themed are in parenthesis for easy matching)

^All with the ability of being interchangeable

+

The option to customize the colors of your fuel pods via a lua script that I've provided. For non-lua users, I’ve also provided individual pak’s with colors to match each of the four variations.

Also, last but not least you get:

&

  •  Entrance Beam Defogger

Do note that although I built this to go along with my Freighter Retexture mod, you CAN use this by itself. The only issue is that the hangar shares a small amount of textures with the body of the freighter (makes sense), and I was unable to successfully isolate (and thus replace) the textures they do share even with changing the file names - although I admittedly didn't try super hard to do so. I could have flat out replaced the textures they do share, but it would have made the outside of the freighter look weird and mismatched. So what this means is: small parts, mostly on the ceiling, may look out of place. But you generally won't notice unless you're looking for it. If you have my Freighter Retexture mod installed, none of this applies to you. :-)

And before I forget - this also themes the outside of the entrance beams with whatever theme you've installed. I personally love it!

I will be adding more info and pictures later, but for now I think that this is enough. This was quite the mod to put together!

>> Instructions are included in the main zip, along with lua scripts & appropriate TEXTURES folders for each of my mods. <<

Enjoy!
