Description

This mod allows the Rocket boots to be used for the duration of available jetpack fuel, allowing you to travel farther along the terrain if fuel allows.  This greatly improves the usefulness of the Rocket boots, making them enjoyable to to use as the primary jetpack mode for getting around. It keeps the original jetpack mechanics intact so the more jetpack tank capacity and efficiency upgrades you obtain, the more benefit you will get out of this mod.

Changes to the Rocket boots include:

• relaxed double tap time by so the rocket boots are easier to engage
• drift force and minimum height increased to maintain elevation
• duration increased several fold
  

Unrelated, but also part of the modification file, sprint speed is increased by 25%

I created this mod for myself, as I like to explore "on-foot" and felt these settings are a good balance (with additional in-game exosuit movement
upgrades) to make things enjoyable without being too crazy.  Hopefully it will be of use to others.

Usage/Installation

This mod requires the Rocket boots exosuit upgrade module, available in-game. The Rocket boots  are invoked with double press of the space bar.  The space bar must be held down for the desired duration.  You can also use directional keys to maneuver.

Note: the game now allows for  adjusting the Camera Shake Strength in the Control Options.  I suggest dropping that down to 2 or so for a smoother "ride" as you are using the rocket boots.

To install this mod, copy the rocketboots.pak file to your ..\No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\MODS directory.  You may have to create the MODS directory if this is your first mod.  Also, you must delete or rename the DISABLEMODS.TXT file in the PCBANKS directory for the game to load any mods.  To uninstall this mod, simply delete the rocketboots.pak file from the MODS directory.

This mod is not compatible with other jetpack or walk/sprint speed mods (anything that changes GCPLAYERSGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN settings)
