Uploaded fresh exports of the files, in case NMS 5.x has killed the TEXTURE files. Let me know how it goes. If this doesn't work, then it's due to the extensive reworking of clouds for NMS 5.x.
Yes, the 'lower volumetric fluffy clouds' doesn't work. For now I solved it with the 'COVERAGE_SDF.DDS' file completely filled in red. So there is cloud cover only at 100% setting.
@pmarton. Only partially getting what you're saying. If you're on Discord, can you shoot me a DM? I'm usually on the NMS Modding Discord. Same name, Babscoole. :)
....and I good this upload. Accidently added a file to the wrong .pak. If using both should work fine either way. Will get it corrected tomorrow after some testing. Thanks for your patience.
I have a suggestion. Clouds mean there is liquid on the planet that can evaporate into clouds. Therefore, on waterless planets there shouldn't be clouds at all. On planets without an atmosphere there will not only be no clouds but the sky will be BLACK with stars showing. Also blue skies mean water vapor. If there were other gases/vapors in the atmosphere the sky may be green, or red, or orange. Also, I would think on very hot ( above 50c) and very cold (below -20c) planets there would be no clouds. Could this mod be tweaked to take all that into consideration?
"Also blue skies mean water vapor. If there were other gases/vapors in the atmosphere the sky may be green, or red, or orange."
Absolutely not. Sky color do not depend on liquid or gas on the planet... It's basicaly depend on star light angle to the atmosphere. https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/blue-sky/en/
Clouds in this game look awful compared to the games trailers. Pixelated, blurry, jittery messes that move and warp too quickly. Not to mention the impact they have on performance.
Not only does this mod remove an ugly stain on the rest of the games graphics, it vastly improves framerate.

Thanks!

Thanks.
I personally re-tested that claim just now, and updated the mod details
