You caught me just as I was uploading Most planets were barren and boring (the two below images were from before). But after downloading No Man's Sky Fantasy Origins and taking just the loose file Arcadia Endless Odyssey pack, everything is so much prettier There's some difficulty mods in it too but I'm really not interested in challenges yet xD

I really love No Man's Sky. I actually love playing it on the highest difficulty where a new character is on the edge of death for the first few hours as you build up resources and get to a ship. But once you get past those first few tense hours it's such a joy :) I've got like 265 hours or so just exploring it.

I don't have that DLC you mentioned as it's been around 1 1/2 years since I played the game, but you make me interested in returning to it at some point :) Thanks for telling me about it :)

Edit: There's a game called Subnautica which you might like as well. And then, of course, there's Ark Survival Evolved. All three of these games are about immersive exploration :)

I know you love that high difficulty. The mod definitely makes planets more lush and interesting! Subnautica, I don't think I could get into because I hate swimming xD A lot of people I knew from my old favorite Conan Exiles server (until an update made sure I couldn't play it anymore) were pretty into Ark:SE. I might give it a try some day!

FYI, part of what makes Ark Survival Evolved and Subnautica viable as exploration games is they have the equivalent of console commands that let you not die from cold/heat/oxygen and can even have god mode. They're listed as survival games, but the survival aspect can be bypassed.

I've had this game almost from the start. It was pretty bad back then, it's a lot better now, but.. even with mods every planet feels the same, mostly because all the 'alien' buildings are the same. I will say though, that sitting in the cockpit in the VR version is amazing. Also, try my Flight mod.

Thanks for the mod! I think that made flight easier But also if you want to get back into it pluck the Arcadia Endless Odyssey pack file from No Man's Sky Fantasy Origins Exploring planets has been amazing

Sounds like a lot of fun with the various options. Don't forget to set your alarm on Monday.
