About this video

Basically a re-creation of The Strip Open, featuring many nav-mesh fixes and improvements, bug fixes, aded occlusion panes to increase performance, and fixed meshes by Rikako (which aren't actually featured in this video). As you can see, the performance never drops below 60 FPS which is the framerate most people play at, which is nice to see. Make sure you watch the video at fullscreen 1080p so you can actually see the FPS counter in the top left.

Damn, Qolore. You've been hitting it again. This is just fantastic!! I actually wanted to fix bugs for Strip Open in my mod but I guess that won't be necessary.

Just one thing: I'm working on a strip overhaul atm and using strip open as a base. How hard would it be to switch to your mod as a requirement instead of Strip Open?

As I understand it,  the Strip, unlike Freeside, is one constant worldspace in the vanilla game already, and the doors were apparently just for managing NPCs and I think lights.

How's the performance at night when all the streetlamps are active?

Yep, so thankfully there shouldn't be any incompatibilities with quest mods unlike with Freeside. And I'm not currently at my PC so I can't get another video, but here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir0xT_Bmsdg) is a quick vid of me waking about at night, performance isn't much different at a quick glance. I'm using Altitude and A Little More Lamplight too

Are you telling me that you created an actual *WORKING* version of Strip Open? Please tell me this is something that'll be released!

Also what is that light that you passed by at the 13 second mark?

I do plan on releasing it soon, yeah! Just want to QA a bunch of quest stuff, like Joana(?) fleeing the strip and stuff like that to make sure it all works properly (I barely actually play the game so I can't remember anything else lol). And that light is just a leftover remnant from the gate im pretty sure, I've already removed it

Yes! They only aren't in this vid since I was COC'ing around so they didn't trigger. They can be seen in this video working fine though, where I enter the Strip for the first time on a fresh save

I've never bothered with the Strip Open before due to its buggy and mod-breaking reputation but this looks pretty great actually. Did notice some kind of floating object at the 0:13 mark.

Also will this, by any chance, incorporate some of the Strip building modder's resources that have been being published lately (like the Lucky 38, Tops, Gomorrah, Ultra-Luxe etc.)?

yeah lol I already fixed that, thanks though. And probably not, no. There's still no way to get all the way around the casinos so there's no need to have full meshes like those. Plus Rikako already has provided polished meshes for the casinos so they'd overwrite them

Alright sounds good. Also any plan to take it a little further and make the Strip look a little more like the original E3 concept (replacing the billboard junk walls and some general beautifying etc.)? Maybe that would just be an additional compatibility headache that isn't worth it.

I don't really have any experience with world designing, so I doubt I could make it look good. I'll probably leave it as is and let people build of it themselves

If this mod is (very much hopefully) released, will it work with mods that edit the Strip's exteriors (something that affects the Ultra-Luxe's fountain for example)? I know that unlike Freeside, the Strip is one worldspace (or however it is called) but I still wanna know fo shure.

Like I know this is very out of nowhere, but honestly, you've been doing so much for this game, I use pretty much everything you released (bless you for making both new things and keeping old favorites usable) and used your guide as a basis for my current setup. I've been quietly modding this game since like 2014, so. Everything you do is both greatly appreciated, and also kinda inspiring as far as trying to mod.

So yeah. Keep doing your thing man. Grateful for all of it.
