About this video

Welcome to part 3 of my modding series for Fallout: New Vegas. In this video i'll be explaining what ini files are and i'll also be recommending some tweaks for them, which you can find below!

JIP LN NVSE Plugin https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58277

My recommended ini tweaks - COPY THESE!!!
=========================================================
[General]
bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=1 - Unloads data you won't need when changing cells. This should reduce Out of memory crashes when entering and exiting locations
bBorderRegionsEnabled=1 - Adds invisible walls at the border of the game world. Setting this to 0 will remove them.

[Display]
iPresentInterval=1 - Vsync, keep enabled unless you limit FPS elsewhere!
Imultisample=8 - Anti Aliasing | Set to 0 for ENBs!
IMaxAnisotropy=15 - Anisotropic Filtering | Set to 0 for ENBs!
bFull Screen=0 - Enables Fullscreen. Set to 0 for windowed mode!
iSize W=1920 - Resolution Horizontal
iSize H=1080 - Resolution Vertical

[BackgroundLoad]
bBackgroundCellLoads=1 - Determines if cells are loaded in the background. Removes a certian type of lag spike while running around outdoors.
bSelectivePurgeUnusedOnFastTravel=1 - Enabling this stops your game from loading cell infomation for locations that aren't close to the place you are fast traveling too. Helps prevent Out of memory crashes when fast traveling.

[Water]
bUseWaterDisplacements=1 - Set to 0 For ENBs

[Controls]
fForegroundMouseMult=0 - Disabled Mouse Acceleration
fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=0
fXenonVertLookSpeed=1200.0000
fXenonHorizLookSpeed=1500.0000

[TerrainManager]
fBlockLoadDistance=300000.0000 - Longer distance LOD
fBlockLoadDistanceLow=125000.0000 - Longer distance LOD
=========================================================

Additional tweaks you can make
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[General]
bUseThreadedAI=1 - Allows AI to use CPU threads to increase performance
iNumHWThreads=24 - Your CPU Threads. For example ryzen 9 3900x = 24 threads
These memory tweaks are a mixed bag, they can either help with performance, or they can cause crashes. Feel free to try them. But if they cause issue's for you; Delete them from your ini file!

[Audio]
iAudioCacheSize=8192
iMaxSizeForCachedSound=1024 - Increases audio cache to prevent stuttering and audio not playing. These audio tweaks when combined with NVTF can cause certain ambience music to loop instead of playing properly. If you're playing fallout 3 via TTW this won't be an issue.

[Interface]
bDisable360Controller=1 - Disables controller usage in the game. Useful if you have a controller plugged in but you don't want to use it.

[Controls]
bGamePadRumble=0 - Disables controller vibrations.

[Water]
bUseWaterHiRes=0 - Determines if water textures are displayed in high resolution
bForceHighDetailReflections=0 - Controls water refelctions.
These water tweaks can make quite a noticeable difference in FPS on the strip - Shoutout to LStewieAL for telling me about these.

[Grass]
fGrassStartFadeDistance=7000 - Controls the distance grass is rendered from the player.
Shoutout to Kazopert from the TTW discord for throwing some advice at me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tweaks you should NOT add or tweak to your ini files.
iPreloadSizeLimit=
uGridsToLoad=
These can cause problems late into your playthrough, such as save file corruption.

[LOD]
bForceFullLOD=1
fLODFadeOutMultActors=20
fLODFadeOutMultObjects=20
fSpecularLODStartFade=2500
fLightLODStartFade=4000
fLODFadeOutMultItems=20
fShadowLODStartFade=2000
These tweaks don't actually do anything. The only exception is the bForceFullLOD setting which is a requirement for the Salt Lake Stories mod.

    well I don't know why this happens, because this is not the first time I've seen this exact thing...

    but you will not find any text within any of your fallout INI files that says "javascript-event-stripped"

    So when looking at this guide, it says we should set the following, which is not a real setting:
    bDisable360Cjavascript-event-stripped1

    The real setting in question would be (except with out any spaces):
    b D i s a b l e 3 6 0 C o n t r o l l e r = 1

    There must be a script that's causing the "javascript" text to get swapped in... for whatever reason. So if anyone is reading this guide, you can try searching the INI for "bDisable360" and you'll find the correct boolean.

    Excellent little video explaining this feature! A lot of people don't seem to realize this feature exists. I'm glad somebody made a video for it.
