About this video

Some more progress on my No Scope Overlays mod.

After making the first long range weapon I discovered that the accuracy at long range was awful compared to the vanilla scope overlays. There is also a shaking iron sights bug when outdoors that makes the accuracy even worse.

Thanks to Hitman47101 allowing the use of his animation pack the iron sight wobble has been greatly reduced and with the addition of some scripted auto aim and weapon spread changes the accuracy of the new scopes is far more acceptable.

With the accuracy now at an acceptable state I can focus on the rest of the weapon models needed for the first release.

I remember a popular mod called "scopes of NV" or something like that, that did a similar thing but all the weapons needed to be modified, so it was a huge pain in the ass to use. You say you actually addressed that issue in a comment below, so kudos!
I really like the progress so far. Do you think it would be possible to the leave peripheral vision unzoomed, while zooming in with the scope? If not possible, I would slightly increase the blurring effect on the peripheral vision. Some optical aberrations within the scope would also go a long way to make it feel like the real deal.

I think magnification inside the scope is possible, I'm sure Optics of New Vegas had that effect, however I wouldn't even know where to start replicating that. As for the blur it can easily be tweaked, it is just a placeholder at the minute using one of the VATS image space modifiers.

do you know if this will be compatible with mods out of the box or will other patches be necessary?

It won't break other modded weapons that use scopes, they will just use the vanilla scope overlays unless patched.
