About this video

This mod didn't have a really in-depth demonstration, so I made one since I was trying to decide If I wanted to keep it, leaning heavily to no unfortunately.

While it's the best overhaul for the ballistic weapons so far in terms of quality of the effects, it still suffers from the same lack of consistency as others.

This mod faces some additional challenges as it doesn't use an ESP, which is cool  because it means you don't have to deal with endless compatibility patches.

However,  as a number of weapons share the same sound effect, like the 10mm Smg and the Shoulder-Mounted Machine gun, it's necessary to compromise with a sound that would fit both weapons.
The mod mostly misses the mark in this respect

And then there's sounds that just don't "feel" right. The 12.7mm Pistol is one of the most powerful pistols in the game, but it's firing sound doesn't have as much "oomph" to it as the bottom-tier 9mm pistol.

As usual, the effects are also a mixed bag in terms of engineering. Some sounds are slightly quieter than others, and equalization is all over the place. Things like the Anti-Material Rifle's bolt cycle sound out of context with the actual firing sound.

Many sounds are just too loud in general... I don't care if it's realistic, it's really irritating. I already have recurrent nightmares about the Half-Life 2 SMG.

Consistency is the name of the game, and while the vanilla sounds were crap, even back in 2010, I was never constantly distracted by how out-of-place some effects sounded.
I realize these replacers are just drawing water from where they can find it, but at the end of the day, I'd rather just have consistent sounds than better ones.

Music to my ears. Especially the pistol reloading sound.
