The watch thing makes me think of Metro 2033. which i might guess is where you got the idea?

  i really liked the gas mask bit of the game myself. although i'd imagine putting a feature like that into new vegas would be a lot of work. especially the whole marking areas down that require a mask to breath

  In theory they could, just replicate the effect of searchlight all across the Mojave and add the gas masks to loot tables, npc's and level lists.
