About this mod
A mod adding crafting recipes for the base game's original throwing weapons, using only vanilla materials and no other bloat or fuss. Simple!

I always thought that an easy solution could've just been to make them crafting fodder since the crafting system was, while not new to NV, greatly expanded upon and they would've easily slotted into it.
I am not the first person to think this. There are several mods on this site that offer a similar function, but after looking through the options, I realized none of them quite did exactly what I was personally looking for. That is, a mod that is ONLY for the base game weapons with no added variants or extra mechanics tacked on. Also, having the recipes require existing materials rather than new parts, since I think with a little stretch of the imagination, it's fine to just cobble some things together and just unnecessary to clutter things up when there's already so much junk in the game to pick up. I also, subjectively, don't vibe with the idea of needing to use Combat Knives or other weapons at all to craft other weapons, even if that technically makes more sense in-fiction. My thought process of what to use as ingredients and requirements was more gameplay focused, rather than a strict emphasis of realistically what goes where on what.
That being said, the recipes and quantities for each item are as follows-
Throwing Knife Bundle: 1 Scrap Metal + 1 Duct Tape will produce 6 Throwing Knives. In order to craft them, you must have at least 25 in Melee Weapons.
Throwing Spear Bundle: 1 Scrap Metal + 1 Duct Tape will produce 4 Throwing Spears. In order to craft them, you must have at least 35 in Melee Weapons.
(The recipes for Spears and Knives have the same material cost with just different quantities and skill req because I personally feel like the damage/speed attributes of both items, along with stylistic preference, make for enough of a give and take in regards to which you'd like to make for yourself.)
Throwing Hatchet Bundle: 2 Scrap Metal + 1 Duct Tape will produce 2 Throwing Hatchets. In order to craft them, you must have at least 50 in Melee Weapons.
(In comparison with the other two, Hatchets are far more powerful, so the higher cost & skill req with lower output reflect that. Also I think, stylistically, you'd typically be using thrown hatchets more secondarily compared to the other two, so they're still effectively quality over quantity.)
Additionally, to craft any of these items, you must also have a Whet Stone in your inventory, but it is not consumed in the process and can be reused for more bundles.
Balance wise, this mod has the vanilla behavior of thrown weapons in mind. That being their risk/reward, being high damage but easy to miss and completely waste them since they can't be recovered. If you use this in conjunction with a mod that makes them retrievable after being thrown (or otherwise makes them more plentiful through other sources), the amount you can craft so easily might seem less balanced. But in my eyes, if you do use those together with this, you clearly yearn to "Random bullshit go!" and I don't think your light should be kept under a bushel.
