A Little History...


Van Buren,the code-named project for Fallout 3 was designed and developed by Black Isles Studio and to be published by Interplay. Chris Avellone was the project lead of it from the start, creating the game in a OSRPG form. From there the materials created in its table-top format would be translated into a CRPG form. Of, course there were to be revisions and redesigns of certain areas and story elements. With time passing on, things would not go so smoothly at Interplay. They were struggling financially. Eventually Chris and many others would start leaving Black Ilses. With shortage of staff and strict budgets in place the game was slated to be released in 2003. At this point much of the game had gone through heavy revisions and with entire areas, side quests and NPCs cut. But regardless with how much was done the game would never come out. Interplay finally went bankrupt and Van Buren along with other titles in the works would be cancelled indefinitely.  Some time would pass on and the IP would be bought by Bethesda who would create their own version of Fallout 3, leaving Van Buren lost and forgotten in time. But it would not be the end, as the original design documents and demo got leaked to the public. With fans becoming more aware of the information, a cult following would surround the mystery of Van Buren. Eventually Modders of different backgrounds would take on the mantle of bringing Van Buren to life however they should achieve it. Whether in the Fallout 2 engine, the Fallout New Vegas Engine or a completely new engine entirely, just shows the dedication of the fans to the franchise.

On Fallout: Revelation Blues

Fallout: Revelation Blues is aiming to create a faithful adaption of Van Buren in the Fallout New Vegas Engine. Both games are widely different in terms
of gameplay and presentation, but we hope to bring the isometric experience into the 3D world for a new generation of fans.  This is a demo of Burham Springs, where players can explore the area with new weather, new assets, new levels, and a whole lot more added to make the environment all the more eye-catching and unique. In terms of factions in the Burham Springs Demo, you will see some familiar faces like the NCR, the BoS and the Powder Gangers.

Witness a snippet of the area we have developed, Burham Springs. A small mining town that was once under NCR control, now abandoned due to a terrible incident. You the player will be able to explore the ruins and have the story unfold before you. Meet with the last few locales who are every bit on edge and possibly insane. Find treasures and secrets buried away under the sand and rock of the ashy canyon. Its yours to claim, but at what cost?

Getting Started

To Visit Burham Springs we recommend a level 15 or so player. Travel To Boulder City, investigate the parked train and enjoy the ride!

Installation

HAVE A CLEAN INSTALL (this is mostly a precaution)

For manual users, Extract everything from the zip and place in your Fallout New Vegas Data folder

Vortex users should have no problems, if any do arise please inform us.

FAQ
1. Should i bring a companion?
A: Probably not, vanilla companions get a little confused in Burham Springs

2. Will Fallout NV be cannon\ will the story be played as the Courier?
A: No. This story will be faithfully following the original design docs as much as makes sense, only in the tech demos will you play as the courier

3. Do you need an ideas guy?
A: No thanks, if you are good at using the G.E.C.K shoot us a message

4.How can we contact you with bug reports?
A: You can reach us on our public discord or here on nexus!

5. Whens the next demo going to be here?
A: Hopefully the wait wont be as long as Burham but we cant really answer that, we work at our own pace so we don't get burned out.

6. Why release a demo when you could just finish the mod?
A: There is a lot more work that goes into these projects than i think you might realize. Releasing “Tech Demos” for each world space as we go along also really helps our motivation from the feedback we get

7. Is this compatible with other mods?
A: Yes! I cant imagine that there would be conflicts seeing how the demo is in its own world space. However this is a New Vegas, so mod at your own risk

8. Whats next for the project?
A: While most of our team will be finishing any bit of Burham needed 2 of our developers will be building the twin mothers world space

9. How much of the Original game formula will be used in this project?
A: As much as we can where it makes sense in the FNV engine, obviously no turn based combat but we do hope to capture the atmosphere and writing feelings from the originals

10. Will this mod get DLC?
A: We have talked about this a lot and would love to (we all have amazing ideas). However its so far in the future we are not sure what will happen
