About this mod

Adds cool new effects to replace the old vanilla ones!
Inspired by EVE

Permissions and credits
Changelogs
Replaces vanilla effects with new ones that have neat things about them.

Current effects:
  • Laser Beam - Adds new wispy particles that squiggle around along the beam, inspired by Fallout 4's laser musket, with a more intense version for rifles vs pistols
  • Recharger Beams - Cool yellow one, but with a bit of a twist! Multicolored and sparkle-y, pretty! Also has the pistol/rifle intensity difference, and it has a yellow version of the disintegration effect, along with yellowed impacts (The glow when you shoot something)

In Progress:
  • Plasma - I want to add drippy plasma bits as the ball goes along. Currently working out crashing issues
  • Plasma Grenade - Splatters of particles that stick to things would be GREAT, if the game supported particles colliding with the world! Wall, please...
  • Pulse Grenade - I want an explosion of lightning-y dynamic particles, similar to the laser beam but much longer and more dramatic
  • Sprtl-Wood and MF Hyperbreeder - Probably gonna have quite similar green lasers and particles
  • LAER - Blue!
I plan to add more as I continue to learn how to make them and deal with vanilla systems, and come up with/be given ideas

I recommend enabling the Detached Beams feature of Stewie's Tweaks for the best visuals.

Known Issues:
  • If your game changes speed for whatever reason, such as with bullet time mods and maybe Turbo, the particles will change size and won't look as intended while the effect lasts. Nothing I can do about it, but we can hope an engine tinkerer can fiddle with things to make this particle type adjust automatically to remain proportional.

Please note that I am not, by any means, a graphic designer or VFX artist, I just think some things look cool and vaguely know how to implement them in this game, so I apologize if my changes aren't quite up to the standard anyone might expect.
