A Viper-themed power armor set
Perhaps one of the most peculiar sets of armor in the Mojave Wasteland, this suit of T-51b power armor is said to have once belonged to Maxson II, one of the first High Elders of the Brotherhood of Steel.
According to legend, while out leading a Brotherhood patrol, an elderly Maxson II removed his helmet for reasons that are not still quite understood to this day. It is said that an opportunistic Viper (often claimed to have been Jonathan Faust, the first Great Snakekeeper and founder of The Vipers, himself), having spotted the Elder without his helmet on, fired an arrow previously dipped in snake poison and, through miraculous odds, was able to graze Maxson II's cheek with the tip of the arrow. Within minutes, the High Elder began the violently writhe on the floor in agony, and died only a few short moments afterwards. A prolonged firefight between the Brotherhood patrol and the Viper warband ensued, and amongst all of the chaos, a couple of Vipers were able to seize the body of Maxson II and covertly escaped with his corpse and armor in-tact.
Soon after this event, an enraged Brotherhood launched a massive campaign against the Vipers, seeking to recover the remains of Maxson II and to exterminate the Viper raiders for killing their High Elder. And although they were successful in killing Jonathan Faust and exterminating most of the Vipers, the Brotherhood was still unable to recover their leader's remains or his set of power armor.
Since then, this set of armor has been passed down from generation-to-generation among the Vipers, heavily modified and decorated with hallowed symbols and sacred artifacts over the years. This holy relic, representing one of the greatest victories ever achieved by the gang, has become intrinsically tied with the position of the Great Snakekeeper itself. It is believed by members of the tribe that earning this armor (usually through challenging and killing its previous owner) means that one has been specially blessed with the right to rule by the Great Snake himself, and is therefore recognized as being the true leader and Great Snakekeeper of the Vipers. Rumor has it that the armor has just recently come into the possession of a young Viper warrior in-service of a mysterious new "goddess" from the East, and that he and a small warband of Viper raiders have taken over a small settlement south of Red Rock Canyon...
Welcome to my first-ever New Vegas mod ever uploaded to Nexus! This armor set was made for my upcoming mod centered around the Daughters of Hecate and their Viper warriors from Van Buren, but I've decided to release it early as a sneak-peak/teaser for what's to come.
This mod includes the following new features:
- A new Viper-themed power armor set that, when equipped, makes all Viper raiders friendly to the player
- A new boss NPC to fight
- Small tidbits of lore related to my upcoming mod
