About this mod

Gets your own radio station

Changelogs
This is a blank radio station named My Radio Station that you can fill with your own songs. This station is a remnant of my old New California Radio mod, which was taken down due to copyright issues 😄. So, this mod contains absolutely no music; it’s just an empty canvas for your own tunes.

INSTALLATION
After installing the mod with your mod manager, like Vortex:

METHOD 1 (recommended)
1. Create a directory "MyRadioStation Musics", and in this directory, create a subdirectory "Sound", then in this last one create a subdirectory "songs", then in this last one a subdirectory "MyRadioStation". You should have something like "MyRadioStation Musics\Sound\songs\MyRadioStation".
2. In this last MyRadioStation directory, put your mp3 files with names exactly like 01.mp3, 02.mp3, 03.mp3, etc. They will overwrite blank files of the current mod.
3. Your mp3 files must be encoded in mp3 format with a 192kbps Constant Bit Rate. You can use Audacity, a reliable free application, to convert your files (in menu File, Export Audio...).
4. You can also create a Tracks.txt file there to keep correspondence of your songs (01.mp3 = mysong.mp3 and so on…).
5. Zip your "MyRadioStation Musics" directory and drop it in the mods drop zone of Vortex (under the Mods panel). Overwrite the original mod (you can check your Fallout New Vegas\Data\Sound\songs\MyRadioStation to be sure it is no more full of blank mp3)

METHOD 2 (not recommended)
1. Replace the mp3 files in `Sound\songs\MyRadioStation` with your own mp3 files. Ensure you keep the original file names (01.mp3, 02.mp3, etc.). Keep a text file of correspondence somewhere (01.mp3 = mysong.mp3 and so on…), this could be helpful one day.
2. Your mp3 files must be encoded in mp3 format with a 192kbps Constant Bit Rate. You can use Audacity, a reliable free application, to convert your files (in menu File, Export Audio...).
3. Beware to not lose your files in case of a mod redeployment.

Additional infos
  • Current mod is limited to 90 mp3 files max to be replaced. If you want more, try to edit the `MyRadioStation.esp` file using FNVEdit or make additional music zips so you can changes them from time to time. There will be no additional update to increase this counter.
  • After installing your musics, be sure to redeploy the mods to overwrite blank files (there's a Deploy Mods button on Vortex top bar).
  • It seems that max length for a single music track (not all the tracks) is 59 minutes and 59 seconds, after that it may crash, and the minimum is 1 second (below it may crash as well, a blank file lasts a second).
  • If you want some idea for a song list with some Fallout New Vegas vibes, take a look at my youtube list: New California Radio. But of course, you will have to purchase those titles before use.
  • Remember you can adjust the Radio volume in the game audio settings (it is not the music volume but the radio volume below).
  • In cover: Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt (CC wiki-common).
