This is a small mod that I got the idea for a few days ago. Should ED-E be destroyed, this mod allows you to salvage his body into a makeshift Eyebot Helmet. There are two versions of the helmet, one for un-upgraded/weapon upgraded ED-E, and a version for armor upgraded ED-E. Both weigh 6.5 pounds, but have different DT, health, and values. While wearing the helmet, it will beep and boop like the real ED-E, and even provides a copy of the Enhanced Sensors perk so long as it stays equipped.
Note that the Camarader-E bonuses do NOT work while the helmet is equipped. This is intentional.
- Acquisition
As mentioned above, ED-E needs to be destroyed in some fashion before the helmet can be made, the deactivated ED-E in Primm does not count. Should such an unfortunate incident occur, ED-E's body can be activated, at which point you will be prompted to either salvage or search him. Salvaging him will result in his body being converted into a helmet.
Or if you don't want to get ED-E killed you can just use the following commands for the regular and armored versions respectively:
