Description

-Amount of face overlays - face paints, moles, scars, freckles etc. - added to beard section in facegen menu, to create more unique characters without straightforward making new races for it.
-Most of facepaint overlays got amount of color options for more diversity.
-Some assets may be mix-matched with each other to achieve interesting results.

As for current version, mod is mostly related to face paints; I will ad more diverse overlays in further updates.

How to use/Limitations:

All overlays are in Beards section, marked with A_[Index] names.

Technically overlays use copy of headmesh and apply different texture sets on it. They are not straightforward texture overlays, as FNV engine doesn't allow to make it like in Skyrim/Fallout 4, sadly.

Due to engine limitations (it loads headparts in random order after you reload a game), face paints are set up in next sheme:

--A_Flp[Index] overlays are intended to be used as single fullface paints.

--A_Fnd[Index] overlays are intended for mixmatching, as lower level of paint - i.e. foundations.

--A_Pnt[Index] overlays are intended for mixmatching, to go after foundations - they use a mesh that is very sligtly in front of Foundation mesh, so after game is reloaded overlapping will not be confused.

You can mix-match overlays of same type if you wish, but after you reload a game, all of them will be re-applied to character's face in random order, so if they overlap - result will differ from what you set up in chargen menu and most likely will not look good.

I didn't get any answer when I asked Stewie if it may be fixed/adjusted for Unlimited beards (which is essential base for this mod to function), so there's nothing I can do to help it. Maybe if you ask him too, you will be more succesful in figuring it out.

You can freely mix-match overlays of same type that do not overlap each other (for example any lip overlay will work with any eyes overlay without wackiness).

There is huge space for experimenting on your own, so creativity can provide really unique results at the end of the day.

NOTE: Face overlays will look inverted in facegen menu. It's game limitation towards alpha-enabled meshes; it will look perfectly fine in game itself.

Requirements:

-Robert S Body replacer with HD head option installed.
-Unlimited Beards to choose as many "beard" attachements as you want.

Installation

-Install Robert S mod and choose HD head mesh version, or install HD Male Heads Resource. Mod will not work with other head meshes because of technical reasons.

-Install A-Overlays mod with any mod manager or manually, as usual.

Compatibility

-Mod designed for HD head version included in Robert S replacer. It will not work with vanilla lowres male head.
-Should be compatible to anything else.
-Will not work for female characters for time being as it needs to recreate overlay headmesh again.
-Mod version for The Guys 2.0 race is avaible in optional files.

F.A.Q.

-I didn't install pre-requisites and overlays look bugged on my character's head!
Mod designed for HD head version included in Robert S replacer. It will not work with vanilla lowres male head.

-I got huge gap on character's forehead with foundation!
It's because most of vanilla presets for player have brows mesh attached to them, and it's alpha screws things up for overlay mesh alpha (infamous alpha z-fighting issue). Not sure if it can be fixed as easily (you probably want to use some custom presets for it, or use one of those few presets that have no brows mesh).

-Vanilla/other/modded head meshes versions?
Not planned at the moment, as making overlay meshes is real piece of work, and I got other projects going on that take a lot of time and energy.

-I know my way around creating morphed meshes, can I make a patch for vanilla/some other heads/make female version?
Yes! I encourage you to do it. But you have to leave this mod as requirement (i.e. you cannot include textures).

Credits

Stewie - for Unlimited beards utility that makes it possible to apply as many overlays to a face as you want.
