About this mod

Assaultrons and salvaged Assaultron equipment have finally reached the Mojave placed in a few select locations and integrated into leveled lists,
this is both a mod you can add to your load order and a modders resource.

Requirements

Changelogs
Adds a recreated from scratch version of Assaultrons to the game, aiming for the most accurate (while still fitting with New Vegas) version of the robots I could achieve without needing additional requirements.
Assaultrons

Assaultrons in a variety of colours (based on those in Fallout 4 and 76 but adjusted to fit New Vegas's art style and colour palette) are added to the game along with player usable salvage Assaultron blade sword, Assaultron head laser recharging pistol and open and closed helmet variants.

You can use this to add the robots into your game, or it can be (and I sincerely hope it is)  used as a modders resource to add variety to the robots in other mods.

Assaultrons and the more powerful Invader and Dominator variants have been added to relevant robot leveled lists and a few have have been hand placed in specific appropriate areas. Some lore notes/holotapes are added in Repconn Headquarters and the Lucky 38 penthouse which give explanations for some of the differences between them and the Assaultrons in Fallout 4, along with making reference to a piece of 76 lore which listed Jeanette Higgins as the Senior Developer of the Assaultron line (given I needed a name and it's one of the few pieces of official Assaultron lore to exist).

Th salvaged Assaultron blade and head weapons (and the open and closed helmet variants) are placed in a few relevant locations across the Mojave wasteland,  but are also available for purchase at Mick and Ralphs.

FAQ

Q. Where are they?
A. The Assaultrons (in a variety of colours) have been added to the relevant robot leveled lists so they should randomly show up in game, whenever those lists are used in vanilla or in other mods. A few non respawning Assaultrons have also been placed in appropriate locations such as some Enclave ones at the Crashed Vertibird,  some Robco ones in the Securitron Vault,  some (initially non hostile) ones patrolling Nellis air force base with the Boomers Mr Gutsies, and a surprise in one of the locked offices in the Sunset Sarsaparilla HQ.

Q. What about the items?
A. Probably better if you stumble across them yourselves, but fine, look around inside the work shop and the two big hanger buildings at Nellis,  in old lady Gibson's house, and if you don't mind being shot at for a helmet, in the Westside Pawn Shop and Mick and Ralph's. You can also find some salvaged Assaultron blade swords at some Legion camps (often near a severed Assaultron  head on a spike). Or you could just "Head on down" to Mick and Ralph's to purchase all of these.

Q. Will you make a patch for  the Assaultrons to use X body or body physics mod?
A. These are robots. They are made of metal, doing so would make absolutely no sense...

Q. Will you add or change or add X Y Z?
A. Probably not, I don't really have the time or inclination to work on this more currently, this was more meant as a community resource, but who knows.

Q. Will you make more creatures in the future?
A. Maybe... Working on creatures and armor is not my favorite pastime, I really prefer environment and hard surface work. Currently circumstances and lack of time are preventing me from working on other projects I actively do want to work on.

Q. I don't like X will you-
A. No

Q. But-
A. No,  the best way to get such things how you want them, is to tweak them yourselves

Notes for Modders and technical limitations
The Npc version of the Assaultron has optional articulated hands for correctly holding and firing other weapons and will only spin its hands when it has its fist melee weapon equipped but it is unable to use the head laser (as a  custom animation framework would be required for that).

The creature version of the Assaultron sadly will always spin its hands (unless dead) due to limitations of New Vegas's creature system, but is able to dynamically switch to using its head laser when unable to reach its target or in combat at great range. However, it sometimes requires a reload before it will fire its laser, for reasons I have been unable to determine, and will just menacingly stand watching.

Photoshop files for the various paint colours, decals and unpainted Assaultron textures are also available as an optional file.
