THIS MOD IS NOT FOR EVERYONE, DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS IF YOU DON'T LIKE ANY OF THE LISTED CHANGES.
Basically every single bullet recipe is replaced with “x lead and x gunpowder”, whereas the original needed a Primer, Ammo cases, pistol or rifle powder, and then lead. Yeah, that’s too much for a smol brained individual such as yours truly. Plus, sometimes imo less is more, and I want to just have fun in my games rather than look up every 30 minutes where to get a certain primer just to realize I can’t even craft that ammo because I don’t have the cases :(
What this mod does:
- Renamed “Powder, Pistol” to Gunpowder
- Pistol powder=1 gunpowder and Rifle Powder=2 gunpowder
- Edited the description of Junk Rounds and Hand Loader to make sense with the new changes
- The output of lead and gunpowder from breaking down bullets has decreased by roughly 20% (Had to round out decimals sometimes)
- Replaced the requirement of tin cans for junk rounds to more scrap metal
- Replaced usage of 1 cherry bomb with 20 gunpowder and 1 conductor with 1 scrap electronics
- Made recipes to convert tin cans and bent tin cans to 1 scrap metal respectively, Cherry bombs to 20 gunpowder, and conductors to 1 scrap electronics
- Made every ballistic ammo type (Plus rockets) use gunpowder rather than pistol and rifle powder, and primers and gun cases are no longer used either
- Removed any usage of “Powder, Rifle," Gun Cases, and primers as they are not used anymore.
- Only affects ballistic ammo and rockets
What this mod does NOT do:
- Change ammo recipes for energy ammo or explosive ammo types (Except rockets)
- Add any other recipes outside of those previously mentioned
- Change the skill requirements for any previous recipes which already existed
Requirements:
- FNV With all dlc
- Preferably a new character to get used to the changes, but you can probably use it mid playthrough
Because this mod replaces a bunch of the game's bullet crafting mechanics, it will most likely be incompatible with anything that does the same. Anything that adds new bullet types also won’t have a fun time with my mod. Anyone is free to use my files to create patches for other mods , just credit me as the original author.
Installation: Either extract the folder and put the esp inside your data folder, or use your mod organizer of choice.
“This mod isn’t balanced, it just makes ammo easier to get D:<” ignoring how New Vegas is already massively unbalanced, I’ve put in a couple of precautions to try and balance this out. Gunpowder is rarer, and breaking down ammo returns less materials than usual. This will somewhat account for the universal aspect of the ammo crafting, because now that you can break down thousands of pistol rounds and convert them to rifle rounds, it comes at the expense of less ammo being crafted in the end.
This system is actually fairly similar to the energy ammo system (Which is left untouched) in that you can convert all ammo types to each other without having certain bottlenecks limit what you can convert ammo into. It’s different in that you use the ammo cases to make the ammo, but there’s no primers needed and the cases indirectly become converted to other ammo types still.
