Well, I downloaded this. Did everything correctly, converted the mp3s into WAVs, all at 16-bit and 44.1 khz frequency. And it works! Kinda. At first it played the song I added to test everything. But now that I added five or six more it's just a pain.
When one song ends it doesn't cycle to the next one, it repeats itself or just goes quiet. The only way to switch songs is by pulling out the Pip-Boy, selecting another radio station and select the custom one again. AND EVEN THEN it barely works. Sometimes it's completely silent or, when I tested this, it only played two out of the six songs I added.
I did everything. Converted the files, added them to the correct folder, clicked refresh content on Vortex, and yet it's still janky as fuck. I spent like an hour or so trying to get all of this to work only to not work as I thought it was supposed to. Maybe it's an issue on my end but if that's the case, I do not know what it is or how to fix it.
Keep in mind the mod doesn't do well with small amounts of songs. It's better with hundreds. Small amounts of songs can have you being screwed with RNG.
If there is still an issue then yeah it's an issue on your end cause the mod works perfectly for other users.
i may have found a fix, if any one is having issues. change the . wav file into anything like iuhdgevdujh (keyboard smash) with ZERO spaces.
how do i know.. i had a youtube video converted to mp3 to 16 bit wav through audacity and it had tons of spaces. i just thought of removing them as well as changing the file name to anything else that wasn't its original YouTube title and it played in game under "pipboy radio"
Try converting them all again with different conversion sites / software. Following the tutorial I linked is your best bet. Some conversion methods people are using seem to be s#*! or something.
Hey I changed the formats from mp3 to wav for the stuff I wanted to listen to and the radio station is there but it's not playing any of the wav files I put in there. Any recommendations ?
Do I gotta rename my files? Also whats stopping me from just downloading the music files I want off internet Archive? (Because theres like SOAD songs on there not to mention they're already MP3)
Just so everyone knows, just because the .wav files play in Windows Media Player doesn't necessarily mean they will work in game. Found this out the hard way.
