This simple decal overhaul provides caliber-based blood decals (these only affect ballistic, for now). There's also a brand-new absorption effect!

Sick of seeing blood decals that are the size of a basketball from a 22lr pistol? This blood decal overhaul offers multiple decal types with compatibility with all vanilla calibers. The size of these decals is based on the bullet's diameter with some variations to simulate a realistic size. There are three blood decal types, pistol, rifle, and shotgun. 

Pistol affects: .22lr, 9mm, 10mm, .45 auto, .357 magnum, .44 magnum, and 12.7mm.  
Rifle affects: 5.56mm, .308, .45-70, 5mm, and .50 BMG. 
Shotgun affects: 12ga and 20ga. 

There is also a new system called the absorption decal system, which adds in new decals through scripting that creates a smoke effect on impact instead of blood splatter. This is dependent on various factors, such as what caliber is being fired and the percentage of damage absorbed. This being 80% of the damage is absorbed (20% goes through). These custom decals simulate the impact that a bullet will have on body armor.

Note: An optional "FalloutCustom.ini" provides the proper ini. settings for permanent blood decals.
