About this mod

This is my personal ReShade preset which aims to present a cinematic theme of the dark, gritty, & post-apocalyptic world of New Vegas.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Donations
REQUIRES DNW Weathers since I made the preset to blend with it.
However you can use it on any weather mods to your liking but it probably won't have the likeliness to the screenshots I've taken.
This preset is designed to play in 3rd person, but it may look great as well in first person.
There are 2 version of this mod with each optional files, you can check it on image section I've provided several screenshots of the looks for each version.
I highly recommend to hide/adjust your HUD by installing one HUD or any Hud mod to your liking to get and feel the maximum immersion of this preset.

REQUIREMENTS & RECOMMENDATIONS:

INCOMPATIBILITIES:
  • Enhanced Camera (Causing some reshade effects to break)
  • High Resolution Bloom NVSE (Lights may look way too bright & incompatible with some reshade effects I use)
  • DXVK (Probably, I heard it is not compatible with some of ReShade depth buffer effects. But please let me know if it's working too)

INSTALLATIONS:
  • UNZIP, copy/extract ReShadePreset.ini into your Fallout New Vegas folder, click overwrite if it pops up. (you may want to back-up your .ini file first before)
  • If you're using Simple Interior Lighting Overhaul, open your SILO.ini (Found inside Data - Config folder) with notepad, then change the following numbers:

[SILO]
fEmissiveMult = 1.5
fBrightClamp = 0.3
fBlurRadius = 0.8
fAlphaMultInterior = 0.3
fAlphaMultExterior = 0.5
fSaturation = 1.00
fContrastAvgLum = 0.2
fContrast = 0.97
fBrightness = 0.5

NOTE: DO NOT COPY PASTE THESE SETTINGS, CHANGE IT MANUALLY. FCjavascript lines belowfSaturationare supposed to be ContrastAvgLum & Contrast. There's a glitch typing those 2 lines resulting into FCjavascript on the description page.

Make a back up of your SILO.ini file, just in case you'd prefer original settings.

  • Make sure to DEACTIVATE Anti-aliasing in your Launcher. Activating it will result MXAO effects not to work.

PERFORMANCE:
  • Make sure to follow Viva New Vegas stability & performance guide first, the guide is totally game changing.
  •  This preset is performance friendly since I have a potato laptop myself, running it at 60fps on Nvidia MX130 (2GB) at 1366 x 768, 40 fps at 1600 x 900, 30 fps at 1920 x 1080. However, I don't use any High-Res texture replacer mods (You might notice it on my screenshots :'D). I only use FCO for character textures.
  • Included Optional preset which costs 3-5 FPS less than the original/Main File (Might not noticeable on high end rigs). both effects overall have same looks, bloom effects are more noticeable on Optional preset. You can check the comparison on my screenshots.
  • if you notice a big impact on performance, you may need to turn off MXAO effects on the ReShade menu.
  • You may want to increase occlusion (MXAO) effects quality or radius to your liking if you have high end rigs.

CONS:
  • The nights around wastes may look too dark (since there's no light sources) for some players. (Supply of Cateyes would help!)
  •  During a random clear weather there might be a LOD of hills which looks too bright/ too dark.
  •  Some lights or reflections may look too bright.

Since ReShade preset is subjective, I hope you enjoy the one I Use. Have fun!
