Aaayyyy thanks for doing this! I've been getting back into F3/NV thanks to TTW and, after checks notes
ELEVEN YEARS?! I was in college then! Jesus, history is a circle. I'm playing NV again.
Anyways, I looked at the original mod and was like, nahhh, don't have it in me to dive back into the GECK and stuff to release something.
So I'm sincere in my thanks for updating this for a modern NV mod scene. There aren't enough vanilla-friendly or vanilla-adjacent clothing and backpack mods or mods for the NCR, let alone those that are alive in the 2020s, and I'm glad this one has finally been fixed and brought up to par. Someone taking the time to revive an old, poor mod of mine, I can't believe it.
Cheers!
Edit: added a warning disclaimer to the original mod leading them here!
Time really is a flat circle lmao, I seem to be like 10ish years younger than you based off of that answer. If you wanted to/had the free time, maybe we could both work on this together? A lot's changed in 11 years for the modding community, and I hate to just siphon people from your great mod like this. JIPLN and kNVSE have been massive boons to modding alone and I plan on relying on both heaviily.
Great mod but it often crashes I think it is because of broken weapon meshes somehow. My crash logger indicated it had something to do with the marksman service rifle in my latest case (Mojave Outpost)
i really appreciate the work you put into this. not sure if youll ever make a update but many NCR areas crash when you have this or at the very least with the mods i have for them.
This is a really sweet project! I used to play with the original back in the day and I loved what it was trying to do, which you seem to have finally realized. Given the models you've decided to use I'm not sure how possible it is to use them, but my only "gripe" with this is that it doesn't keep the original SR textures. The wood furniture really has a special charm and it always feels wrong to change it when I come back to New Vegas.
(Also, as much as I like the jodhpurs and puttees for the form factor, the shape always did look more than a little unnatural to me! Sad that the only mods that ever avoided that are the modern/tactical and otherwise ignoring the iconic style of the NCR mods you mention in the description.)
yeah, i wish the wood furniture was kept. might affect the LMG, too? but idk if it's this mod or one of the mountainload of other mods i have installed
