Very simple mod I made while playing around in the GECK. All it does it that replaces the AER14 Protoype's stats to those of the Metal Blaster found in Fallout 3. Used the AER14 for the stats because I felt that it's a very boring unique and it made sense for it to have a broken prism after being abandoned in a fungi ridden vault for basically 200 years. Compatible with animation replacers because the weapon ID remains the same. (ofc.) I'm assuming it should also work with model or texture replacers. Changes the weapon name to "Metal Blaster." Also added one inside a bin found in the California Sunset Drive-in. (Found next to Primm near the Lonesome Road entrance.)
There's like 3 bins, have fun finding it.
There's also an AER9 variant found inside a crate in Cannibal Johnson's place. This one doesn't replace the standard laser rifle. It's not compatible with weapon mods like the scope, etc. Stats are identical to the AER14 variant.
I'd still rather make a seperate version but I dont know how to make animation replacers (aside from locomotion ones) work with it. I know it's a matter of adding its ID somewhere... I just dont know where. If someone could tell me I'd really appreciate it! Problem solved. Thanks Charmareian! Would also love to make a new quest associated with said weapon. Any ideas?
in case my english teacher stumbles upon this mod, hi M!!!!
