Description:

A simple plugin that adds multiple NPCs inside the lobby and around the Dino-lite Dee Motel parking lot in Novac.
Also adds additional idle markers around the motel.

The purpose behind this mod was to protect me from hostile NPCs that might attack me as I return to my playerhome.
Also, it always bothered me that there was no one to replace Jeannie May Crawford after she died. I mean, she ran that place all by herself?

Sometimes you'll end up with Legion or NCR assassins from The Living Desert mod or maybe The Inheritance mod bounty hunters attacking you outta nowhere, so it's nice to have more friendly NPCs nearby to save your ass when you're caught with your pants down.

Motel Security Guard - NPC Features:
  • Combat Level: 15
  • Combat Confidence: Set to "Brave" - Will avoid/flee from threats only if severely outmatched.
  • Combat Assistance: Will help Friends and Allies.
  • Health: 165 HP (Calculated)
  • Perks: Toughness, Finesse
  • Death: Non-essential - Will respawn usually within 3 days.
  • Apparel: Prewar & Gambler Outfits - To appear as if they live and casually work in Novac, (mercs for hire).
  • Weapons: Various Mid-tier weapons.
  • Other Gear: Various loot in their inventory to appear immersive if they die.
  • AI Capabilities: They will use Idle markers nearby. Aswell as walk around and interact with their environment (sandbox).
  • Dialogue/Voice: They use the NovacDialogue and MojaveCivillianDialogue. Uses default basegame voices.
  • Faction: NovacGenericTownie, they'll join in and attack anything attacking fellow town members of Novac.
Motel Security Chief - NPC Features:
  • Combat Level: 17
  • Combat Confidence: Set to "Foolhardy" - Will never flee or avoid anyone. (Fights to the death!)
  • Combat Assistance: Will help Friends and Allies.
  • Health: 175 HP (Calculated)
  • Perks: Toughness, Finesse
  • Death: Non-essential - Will respawn usually within 3 days.
  • Apparel: Prewar Outfit - To appear as if they live and casually work in Novac, (mercs for hire).
  • Weapons: .44 Magnum / Combat Knife
  • Other Gear: Various loot in their inventory to appear immersive if they die.
  • AI Capabilities: They will use Idle markers nearby. Aswell as walk around and interact with their environment (sandbox).
  • Dialogue/Voice: They use the NovacDialogue and MojaveCivillianDialogue. Uses default basegame voices.
  • Faction: NovacGenericTownie, they'll join in and attack anything attacking fellow town members of Novac.
Motel Assistant Manager - NPC Features:
  • Combat Level: 6
  • Combat Confidence: Set to "Cowardly" - Will not engage in combat, flees.
  • Combat Assistance: Will help nobody.
  • Health: 80 HP (Calculated)
  • Perks: Toughness
  • Death: Non-essential - Will respawn usually within 3 days.
  • Apparel: Gambler Outfit - To appear as if they live and manage the hotel along aside Jeannie May Crawford.
  • Weapons: None. Expects security to save his ass.
  • Other Gear: Various loot in their inventory to appear immersive if they die.
  • AI Capabilities: They will use Idle markers nearby. Aswell as walk around and interact with their environment (sandbox).
  • Dialogue/Voice: They use the MojaveCivillianDialogue. Uses default basegame voices.
  • Faction: NovacGenericTownie, any hostility towards them will have Novac backing them up.
Motel Maintenance Worker - NPC Features:
  • Combat Level: 9
  • Combat Confidence: Set to "Cautious" - Will avoid/flee from threats if enemy is stronger than them.
  • Combat Assistance: Will help Friends and Allies.
  • Health: 110 HP (Calculated)
  • Perks: Toughness
  • Death: Non-essential - Will respawn usually within 3 days.
  • Apparel: REPCONN Jumpsuit- To appear as if they live and do maintenance upon the motel.
  • Weapons: Lead Pipe.
  • Other Gear: Various loot in their inventory to appear immersive if they die.
  • AI Capabilities: They will use Idle markers nearby. Aswell as walk around and interact with their environment (sandbox).
  • Dialogue/Voice: They use the MojaveCivillianDialogue. Uses default basegame voices.
  • Faction: NovacGenericTownie, any hostility towards them will have Novac backing them up.

Installation: 
There are two Main Files, pick the appropriate Edition for your modded game. Download, and install with your modding client (i.e. MO2 or Vortex) then activate.
  • FCO Version uses Fallout Character Overhaul (v3.01) races. It requires FalloutNV.esm, most of the DLCs and FCOMaster.esm.
  • Vanilla Version uses the default game races. It requires only FalloutNV.esm and most of the DLCs.

Regarding the Load Order, placement in the mod load order should be okay anywhere. It worked fine for me placing it towards the top.

Mod Recommendations:
  • The Living Desert - Add more NPCs to Novac, provides more Trading Caravans coming through.
  • Novac Reborn - Revamps Novac's appearance, adds NPCs, additional farms, Brahmin pens, a properly fenced border, etc.
  • NV Novac Apartment - Introduces a fully featured playerhome at the Dino-lite Dee motel in Novac.
  • Willow (Companion) - Introduces honestly the best modded companion in Fallout:NV and a kick-ass playerhome bungalow in Novac.
  • Drag's Novac Overhaul - Creates a custom appearance of most of the unique NPCs of Novac.


Bugs & Development:
Combat-related Testing:

  • Against creatures (such as Radroaches and Geckos) - Successfully always attacks.
  • Against abominations (such as Super Mutants and Feral Ghouls) - Successfully always attacks.
  • Against Legion Assassins - Sometimes don't attack until other townies are attacked.
  • Have not tested against other mods' NPCs.

Incompatibilities:
None. Report any you encounter.

- Created a custom Faction for all the NPCs. (They shouldn't be grabbing ingestibles anymore from any NPCs).
- Reworked custom AI Packages (Fixed a few idle/patrol issues, and Maintenance Worker weapon drawn issue.)

- Changed all Security Guards/Chief from Pre-War Outfits to Leather Armor. (Now they looked like Mercs for hire.)

- Weapons / Armor conditions were adjusted to low condition (they were 100% before) amongst the NPCs.
- Changed Combat Knifes to instead random one-handed melee weapons amongst the NPCs.
- Reduced Stimpaks from 2 to 1 amongst the NPCs.
