I'm glad to know that this brought joy to people, if only for a while, and despite it not being quite finished. I hope to see you over at B42 Optics!
So, vanilla night vision only activates at night or in otherwise dark locations, and indeed that night vision is full-screen. HOWEVER, the tab key-enabled night vision added by this mod DOESN'T take up the entire screen, it's glued to the scope as intended.
Starting out in the middle of the day, vanilla NV disabled and mod NV disabled. I press tab and it looks like this, blown out but normal:
Then if I leave it on and wait 12 hours for night, it looks like this. Left is with your mod's night vision toggled on with tab, right is with it off:
Seems like it's not YOUR night vision that's taking up the whole screen, it's the vanilla nightvision not being turned off correctly.
Also side note: First time I tried this, the night vision overlays got stuck and started to compound on top of each other. Every time I waited 12 hours, the night vision would get more and more blown out, until it was basically entirely white even at night. When I tried loading an older save to see if it would fix it, the game crashed. Couldn't reproduce this error unfortunately.

I knew that it wasn't my night vision taking up the screen, because of course it isn't, it's entirely different, but great to finally get some sort of answer about this!
I thought I disabled the weapon's night vision myself, but maybe I didn't, or didn't do it right?

You'd probably be better off using B42 Optics. Heck, I've switched to it myself, so I'm not likely to continue working on this unless the mood really strikes me.
I should probably try to direct people to it in the description or something.
When I move the scope forward, it instead enlarges its scope
UPDATE: after a couple of hours i re installed the game, all clean, re installed this mod just to check and it worked BUT if you install ANY other mod after that you are screwed. Aiming will not work the same, no matter what mod you try to fix it. SO, if you want THIS mod to work, install it at last and lock your game, do not change a single thing or your game will be broken. I have no idea what is going on but it took me a lot of time, nothing gives you a hint about this issue, very very VERY BAD mod.
