About this mod

A simple and modular disease system for Fallout New Vegas. Adds a the chance to get sick from eating bad food and drinking untreated water as well as the risk of contracting diseases from wild animal attacks.

==Overview==
The goal of this mod is to add disease system sort of like the one found in Skyrim where catching an illness is possibility, but not one that you constantly have to worry about. Instead, the mod simply makes you reconsider chowing down on the raw brahmin meat or whether you really want to eat that can of beans that’s been sitting on that shelf for at least two centuries. It also hopes to add an extra layer to animal encounters. You might be able to shrug of a mole rat bite, but the disease it leaves behind is a different story.

This mod uses scripts to ensure compatibility with other mods and a config file for increased user customization.

This mod also comes with a Challenge and a few loading screen tips to help it blend in to the game.

==Contracting Diseases==
There are two ways of contracting diseases: eating food you shouldn’t and getting attacked by a creature.
How likely you are to catch a disease is determined by your survival skill. The higher your survival skill, the less likely you are to contract diseases.

==Treating Diseases==
Given enough time, all diseases will run their course and their negative effects will be removed. However, diseases do stick around for some time. So if you don’t want to wait you can either cure your diseases by:
1. Taking a bottle of Immuno-Boosters which is basically a “potion of cure all diseases,” and can be found wherever medicine is usually found.
2. You can also ask a doctor to treat your wounds as you normally would when injured. After you are healed, any diseases should also be removed. This is scripted to work with any doctor (including those added by mods) as long as they use the vanilla doctor healing system.
