Edit: Despite my melodrama further down, it actually seems this mod was superseded in my absence by who else but our good Jesus H. Christ. Since he obviously uses the upscaled icons himself, I can no longer recommend the "main" version of this mod - you should really just be using Consistent Pip-Boy Icons (just make sure to install the patches, even if you don't have the accompanying plugins). The only edge case I can think of is anyone who doesn't want to use Vanilla UI Plus, but still wants the misc item icons. Judging by the amount of people who downloaded the Vanilla-standard version, I guess that actually accounts for some. I'll leave this up for those of y'all and, barring that, for posterity's sake.

Misc Item Icons was a great little supplemental interface mod that provided some vanilla-friendly flavor to a lot of inventory clutter that otherwise lacked any character. Unfortunately it went about assigning those icons via form edits, which pretty much guaranteed incompatibility with any mod that also made direct edits to the 90+ affected items (of which, there were very many). Couple years back, I made a mod that addressed this problem by assigning the new icons via a one-time script, under the username "tranquilTulip."

Then I deleted it, for some reason. To make matters worse, the original mod apparently vanished from the Nexus in turn (whether that happened before or after my little meltdown is unclear). Maybe I would have reuploaded this earlier, but I had been under the impression that all my old mods were also deleted from my various drives. The legacy of Misc Item Icons seemed doomed to live on only in alternate language versions.

After a long walk back from my personal mental health decline throughout 2019-21, I finally dug through my storage media and found my old original mods, including this one. Seeing as The 3rd Type and DekoMan91 were good enough to have set open asset use permissions on their mod before it went kaput, and since it seems no other mod author has taken the opportunity to fill the niche, I'm just reuploading this as it was before I deleted it. I hope very much that that's okay.

I barely remember much of the specifics of how this is constructed, but I've decided to just upload the JIP-dependent versions only. JIP has become something of a standard since 2019, every bit as much as NVSE was at the time. Between that and the fact that the NVSE solo version is technically less optimized, I no longer see the point in providing it.

That said, I'm still dividing this between two versions. The one that I would consider the "main" version utilizes upscales provided by Jesus H. Christ, and will require an interface mod such as Vanilla UI Plus to display correctly. A legacy version that utilizes vanilla-standard icon sizing is also available.

The idea to utilize JIP was Eddoursul's. kazopert, likewise, was the one who did me the courtesy of packing the loose files into a BSA.
