About this mod

Creatures in the DLC areas scale with the player. Now they don't.

I didn't like how tanky the scorpions were in OWB so I went poking about. I found that they scale with the player. My initial thought was to just nerf their health. Thing is, their health isn't that high for what level they are. So, this mod was born.

Normally, when you level you start to see new variants of creatures. This is fine, this is good. What most of the DLCs did was just boost the stats of monsters as you level but they kept their name and likeness. I think it's dumb. If I see a deathclaw, I want it to have the same health as it would regardless of my level, just like it works in the Mojave.

NPCs are not affected. They still get better gear as you level (better guns = better reward for killing). This mod is just for the creatures that scale but don't change in looks.

Essentially, each creature has variants that scale up to level 50. Each variant gets more health and damage. Dead Money and Honest Hearts scale down to level 1 but the others bottom out at level 20 and scale up from there.

• Honest Hearts is mostly unaffected. That one did it right. As you level you meet new variants with different names (cub, giant, ect). The only thing I did with that is to add a flag that enables the low level creatures to spawn when you're a high level. You can comfortably go here at level 10.

• Old World Blues is locked to level 20. The scorpions have a healthy 375 health at that level.

• I set Dead Money to level 30. It's supposed to be difficult after all and it makes it a nice stop gap to the next DLC on the list.

• Lonesome Road was set to level 40, aside from deathclaws which are still 20. They already have the stats of a level 40 creature at level 20 and I want them to be identical to the mainland variety.

There's an alternate file. It was the original concept of capping the DLC to level 20. I thought Dead Money and Lonesome Road should be higher so as to not over level them so I updated the mod but if you'd prefer an easier ride it's available in the optional files section.

This only edits LeveledCreature forms. No creatures were edited directly. I have a significant load order and the only conflict I have is with Spore Plant Melee. If you use that just load this after. Really, this should be loaded quite late. Feel free to take a gander in FNVedit to be sure for your use case.

I suggest using Mojave Wildlife with this. It enables the lower level creatures in the mainland to spawn when you're a high level just as I set Honest Hearts to do. It's also just a good mod.
