Ok, sorry for coming across as a bit of a b&@*$ but I'm slightly pissed off with your program. I used it to extract the sound files for Fallout 3 and upon completion, could not FIND said files while my WizTree program doesn't show them either. Prior to use, my computers hard drive showed 10.1gb remaining. After use, it says 7.2gb remaining. Where the f*#@ are my goddamned audio files?

If you're still having trouble with using this for Project Mojave's audio installation:

    1) Install Visual Studio Community Edition with C++ and restart your PC.
    2) Extract the GSC file.
    3) Move GECKSoundConverter.exe and the Tools folder to the Data folder of Fallout New Vegas.
    4) Run it, press 2 or 3, and then hit enter.
    5) Once the command prompt window says that files have been copied twice (there will be two lines that say it has copied files, the amount will be different for each line), you're done.

Well, as with many others here, I cannot get this to load.  I do not have the placeholder files, the Geck converter does not find the necessary sound files and I downloaded and copied the UCRTbased.dll file into the game directory, no luck.  I then placed the geck mod into the actual sound folder (which by the way does not include an FX folder, just a sound folder with nothing more in the directory.  The sound folder includes songs and in that radio and in that directory all, which is playable, but no luck.  I even stuck the geck mod directly into the music folder that contains all the music, still no luck, (same thing for when I installed it into the data directory, though in that directory, it did find some sounds, but did not find the required path specified.  I am stuck.  I have never played Fallout New Vegas, but it is installed in my laptop.  I did start the game, still the requisite files do not exist.  Any ideas??

For me it just keeps spamming "invalid selection" when I run it.

EDIT: Ok, so apparently I had to enter "2" for Fallout New Vegas and not the name of the game its self, that's why it wasn't working correctly for me.

On another note, FINALLY! The old plasma weapons are making a reappearance, they were HEAPS better as far as art direction is concerned IMO. I hope you will consider making a stand alone mod that overhauls and replaces the default plasma weapons in Fallout 4 with the old school weapons. That would be amazing, then I wouldn't have to worry about my eyes bleeding upon seeing another hideous Fallout 4 plasma weapon...

You need to install Visual Studio to run this application. Not just the regular redistributables but the IDE itself. You can install the Community Edition for free from here: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/. Once you get to the point where it asks for you to install workloads you'll need to choose Desktop Development with C++ and then install. It'll probably be multiple gigs to install it; somewhere around 10 GB or so. Once that is installed you should be able to launch this application with no issue.

Alternatively, HcGxGrill can do a release build of this tool which would completely fix this issue.

This worked for me as well, thank you for the help. Also for me the download was only about 3gb.

Even better then. It is, however, a lot larger than 12 MB so a permanent fix from the author would still be appreciated.

unfortunately so far seems to be the only thing that fixed it for me, but thank you

      This worked for me too

I did find that I had to stick the GECK tool directly into my Fallout New Vegas directory for it to work, if anyone else is having issues with the tool itself

What part of the directory Data or the overall directory? And you still needed the virtual studio IDE?

I wish I had the luck everyone here had.  I even did a clean install of New Vegas and did everything again, from scratch. Music but computer voices.  Now I know about this tool, at least, in case I ever need this.

I believe the voices are supposed to be text-to-speech for the time being.

When I attempt to convert the audio using this tool, it says "The system cannot find the path specified." over and over.

That happened to me when I didn't move the "tools" directory in the RaR file into the same directory the sound converter is in.

The converter it's not converting the "voice" files like you have in your video. So when i put "coc stripfsgate" I do get the music, but I don't get the voices of the npcs.
Edit: I thought the radio didn't work, but it does, i'm just missing the voices.

I too am missing "Voice". I couldnt get the tool to work when selecting the new vegas option and instead picked "3" to extract files in the containing folder, so idk if that has to do with it.

I do have all the other audio afaik though. Music and such

I followed the tutorial but it doesn't seem to be outputting the files I need. Once linked in the proper Fallout 4 directories I still get no new audio for Project Mojave. I also don't seem to have the placeholder.wav files shown in the tutorial video on the Fallout 4 Project Mojave page.

I have exactly the same issue. Although I was able to get the files you don't see by manually unpacking the archives via Bethesda Archive Extractor.
But still I hear no music in game, neither radio nor ambience.
