The Mojave has quite a few different forms of currency in circulation, but in the base game - most aren't all that useful. Converting alternative currencies to caps tends to be quite a cumbersome process, requiring the use of a casino cashier. There's no easy way to sell all of the currency you are holding and you can only sell in select denominations. Additionally, if you want to sell casino chips - you must go to the casino where they originated from to sell them - meaning if you're anything like me and forget to sell while at the casino they just take up space in your inventory for the entire playthrough.

Even worse is that there aren't many cashiers in the Mojave and most are concentrated in the Vegas area. This immediately disqualifies most currencies as useful early game as the first cashier the player is likely to encounter isn't encountered until Freeside.

This mod seeks to fix the above issues, introducing the RobCo Industries Barter-Boy! Spread throughout the Mojave are terminals where the player can easily convert any type of currency to caps at a variable exchange rate that's updated every 12 in-game hours. This means not only that the process of currency conversion easier & more accessible during any playthrough, but is implemented in a way that is interesting and adds to the significance of the alternative currencies.

Upon reaching a Barter-Boy, interacting with it will activate the terminal and the player will be presented with the following options:

  • Close: Closes the terminal
  • Trade Legion Currency: Sells all Legion Aureus & Denarius in the players inventory for the listed price
  • Trade NCR Currency: Sells all $5 $20 & $100 NCR notes for the listed price
  • Trade Pre-War Money: Sells all Pre-War money for the listed price
  • Trade Casino Chips: Sells all casino chips at a fixed price of 1 cap to 1 chip
  • About: Displays some general word-building information

Installation and Uninstallation is fairly standard:

Simply, install via mod manger or manually by dragging and dropping the .esp file into the data folder.
Uninstall via mod manager or by deleting the .esp file from the data folder.

This mod should be compatible with most other mods on the Nexus, unless they modify the currency objects themselves or distribute non standard versions of base game currencies.

Terminal mesh was taken from Jokerine's Misc Resources and Tutorials - FNV and certain terminals were given decoration by me to better fit the environment
