About this mod

A tribal dog follower, that works with JIP CCC.

Purpose

This mod provides a tribal dog follower, Niyol, who will be happy to join you on your travels.

The word "níyol" means "wind" in the Diné (Navajo) language.

Niyol uses the model and animations of the White Legs mongrels from the Honest Hearts DLC.

He can be recruited as soon as you can find him, in the Jean Sky Diving office. I found him great company during my last playthrough as a roving trader. If you like, invite him along on your next trip!

Features

As your teammate, Niyol will:

  • Give the "Float on the Wind" perk, which increases your carryweight by 30 lb
  • Provide a cargo capacity of 300 lb, to help transporting your loot (where does he put it all?)
  • Respond to conversation wheel commands (he'll take orders, but won't have much to say himself)
  • Work smoothly with the JIP Companions Command and Control mod (he has his own avatar picture)
  • Dismiss to either Jean Sky Diving or the Lucky 38
  • Self-heal automatically after combat ends

Requirements

As of version 0.5, this mod requires only the following:

  • Base Game
  • Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road DLCs

Compatibility

Any mod which substantially changes the Jean Sky Diving interior cell may have some compatibility issues. (For example, A World of Pain - see the sticky post in the comments.)

Texture or model changes made to the original White Legs mongrel NPC creature may have unexpected downstream results on Niyol. For example, in DUST, he manifests as a Spore Carrier (!), but is otherwise fully functional.

Recommended

The following mods are not required, but are highly recommended for a stable and fun playthrough.
