Well old games are much niccer than newer ones imo. There's somethign in their simplicity that is magical. I hope you'll get to enjoy lots of cool old games.
i fixed them pretty much all a while back, but then i threw it all away again, cause i stopped playing and modding NV. The only ones i have online are Fallout 3 rocks..
Bethesda and Odsidian's meshes UV's are a damn mess. Even the ones that dont have stretched triangles cause their edges are clinged together.
When I see rocks with stretched UV, I get PTSD. You would not believe how many UV issues are spread across all those darn rocks. A bunch even straight up have holes that need plugging. I think I spent 3x as much time fixing rocks during my last playthrough as I did playing the game.
And that's when I remember all these meshes had their collision improved in Collision Meshes FNV.
This mod places the fixed waterrockcanyon08.nif in nv_rocks. In my vanilla files at least, waterrockcanyon08.nif is actually in rocks. And yeah, the mesh is indeed part of Collision Meshes FNV. I think all the rock meshes are.
That's weird... probably removed the rocks part, because the vanilla collision was not bad at all. You know highpoly collisions lowers fps a lot.
if you want the collision from the mod you can siimply copy nitristripsdata from this mesh and paste over on the other with nifskope (rclick>block>copy ------->"use paste over when pasting instead")
Yeah, I know. Vanilla wasn't bad. Collision Meshes is recognizably better though, so it's what I use. Since I haven't dropped below 60fps in 6+ years, I feel like the improvement is something I can justify taking advantage of.
> you can siimply copy nitristripsdata from this mesh
I've had to maintain compatibility patches for Collision Meshes FNV. Mainly just pointing all this out in case you yourself were interested in doing so.

I recommend the regular version, since it's more stable to walk on, and still very accurate.
