    Locked
    Sticky
Nice. I had done this by disabling the imposters in the worldspace, but switching the statics to a blank mesh is a much more compatible method, good choice. You may want to throw up some descriptions of concepts and pertinent ini settings to stave off some confusion (I wish I'd known these long ago).

    fBlockLoadDistanceLow
-Regular LOD a.k.a. low priority LOD setting. The distance up to which distant buildings (block lod meshes) are rendered to. The max distance for the setting is 125000. With that setting you can see the Lucky 38 almost all the way to Mojave Outpost. The normal fog settings would obscure that distance before it stops rendering.

    fBlockLoadDistance
-All LOD & high priorty LOD setting. The max distance up to which LOD is rendered, including high priority LOD. This setting should be at or above 'fBlockLoadDistanceLow'. The max distance for the setting is 300000 which is way more than you'd need in normal New Vegas. What is high priority? If an object is flagged as 'high priorty' its distant LOD (mesh) is rendered according to the 'fBlockLoadDistance' setting. New Vegas has 8 high priority flagged items (resulting in 6 high priority meshes). These items are the strip casinos, Helios One tower, Camp Golf main building, McCarran terminal, and the Ranger Monument. This setting was/is for being able to see the really big objects even further than everything else. It was more applicable to consoles and low powered PCs back in the day.

Imposters: Stuff that is rendered when you're standing in a particular region (regions as defined in the GECK). New Vegas surrounding buildings, which this mod alters, are an example this. The night time light glows of New Vegas are are also example. As the mod mentions imposter regions were a solution to make distant stuff visible (sort of) and hit performance less hard (also, imposters can be animated while LOD cannot).

I have the settings maxed myself. My PC ain't that great and and LOD stuff doesn't seem to touch performance at all. NPCs however, lots of those suckers tank performance like crazy. XD

      Thanks .

It's good to see another LOD freak . Your fixes for the LOD additions mod are solid.

Those ini settings are essential for me personally. Might add them to the mod page to help others out or I can sticky your comment.

Haha, NPCs destroy performance man, for real.

Hey, so, I'm getting a weird problem. Strip walls are not generating with this mod, for some reason?

    Here are the screenshots.

    Any ideas?

      Fixed it!
I applied this to my fallout custom ini and it worked like a charm!

      [TerrainManager]
      fBlockLoadDistanceLow=125000.00
      fBlockLoadDistance=300000.00

      Thanks zedas!

On a side note. You might want to include these values on the main page, or in the comment of the sticky post. Yes, zedas mentioned it. But, this is Nexus, you can't expect people to read /s. XD

I used max LOD settings from the sticky, but it appears that thera is a lot of z-fighting. Is it supposed to be that way or am I doing something wrong.

The mod does not fix the Z-fighting as that is an engine issue. This just removes the extra unneeded imposter meshes which increased flickering and Z fighting in the city of New Vegas.

I understood what's mod about, I was just curious about sticky's max settings which increases distance of some LOD which in turn seems to increase z-fighting. I countered that by using Nevada Skies dusty distance which increases distant fog so that it can cover some of z-fighting.

Can someone help with my LOD? Mountains flicker a lot more than before, most notably rocks on mountains. I use a bright lighting mod that makes the "z-fighting" even more obvious from a distance. I use FNVLODGen with the mods like:
    FNVLODGenResources
    LODAdditions
    TCM's LOD Overhaul
    Much Needed LOD
Much Needed LOD - NMC WASHEDOUTWASTELAND Patch

I used this guide but now it was removed for some reason :/
    (2) [FNV] The Guide on How to get The Best LOD Possible with mods : FalloutMods (reddit.com)

I've generated LOD a bunch of times already and might consider going back to vanilla LOD (which might bug my game.)
Here's what it looks like currently with all LOD Mods checked
    https://youtu.be/HhIk4XLVR_Q

Did I install/generate LOD incorrectly? Can someone help me please?

Your LOD is definitely borked during generation.

I would suggest you backup your INI files and remove them.

After that run the FNV launcher and select ultra to regenerate the INIs. After that make sure your load order is alright, activate Archive Invalidation and run FNVLODGEN again.

This should fix most of the problems. A user had a similar problem and these steps fixed it. Hope it helps.

Truly perfect. The godawful LOD from this game is a bit too extreme and you helped a lot in making it look better thank you! :) Now we wait for a genius to fix all the LOD flickerings, especially those out of bounds mountain peaks z-fighting to oblivion from goodsprings cemetery
