About this mod
Disguise your identity! Infiltrate an enemy camp unrecognized! "Who was that masked man?"
"Disguises" is offered both as a playable mod and as a modder's resource. The mod adds functioning masks and clothing which you can craft using caps at any workbench.
- Permissions and credits
"Disguises" is offered both as a playable mod and as a modder's resource. You have my permission to adapt assets from this mod in your own work, giving credit as appropriate. (You can identify material from Disguises in the GECK by filtering for the word Disguises.) The mod adds functioning masks and clothing which you can craft using caps at any workbench.
You can only wear one disguise at a time; this is set in the GECK by making all of them body addons. Unfortunately, wearing more than one disguise would make the scripts malfunction.
MASKS:
You are disguised as a masked bandit! Major factions will consider you an enemy, and will attack you on sight regardless of your personal faction relation with them. Since your true identity is concealed, any reputation changes that occur while in disguise will be erased when you remove the mask. The Powder Gangers, however, are quite comfortable with masked bandits. Wearing a mask will not make you an enemy in their eyes, and may in fact let you mingle with them even if you've been Vilified. Remember that powder ganger guards can still recognize and attack you.
Warning: once NPCs in an area become aware of you as an enemy, they will remain hostile even if you take off your mask. (You're still that wicked bandit in their eyes.) Only leaving the area will erase the hostility, although you will be able to return later in a different persona.
The Lone Ranger mask has no disguise function, but does give some useful skill increases. It suits the mod, but in the serials nobody seems to react to it.
IDLE RICH:
Major factions see you as nothing but a wealthy idler: too lazy for anyone to take seriously, but too rich to offend. As long as you don't act openly against them, most faction members will ignore you.
Warning: the Idle Rich outfit establishes an alternate identity, in which you have not offended anybody. However, you can lose this immunity; reputation does not reset when you take off this outfit. If you've offended a faction while in the Idle Rich identity, they will remember.
