About this mod

This mod adds an item that allows you to carry heavy items—such as items in player homes, or scrap from Real Time Settler—short distances, while maintaining balance by restricting your actions while wearing it. Think of it like a "settlement-building mode" for New Vegas!

++Introduction++

Have you ever bought a gold bar's worth of weapons and ammo from the Gun Runners, only to find that your pack brahmin Veronica and Arcade had run off into the countryside, forcing you to walk 200 meters to catch up to them and deposit your fresh loot? Have you ever tried to move a wooden log from one side of an RTS settlement to the other, only to slow to a crawl because you're hungry? With this [slightly] balanced mod, you can haul items in your home or settlement with ease.

++Specific changes++

This simple mod adds an item called the "Amulet of Lightened Burdens," which is a quest item in the Apparel section that increases your carry weight by 666 when worn—in effect, putting you in a temporary "settlement-building mode" where you can move freely.

To prevent you from using it to simply add half a ton to your carry weight, the amulet restricts you from fast-traveling or using weapons of any kind while it is worn. When you remove it, your carry weight will return to normal, and you can fast travel and unholster your weapons again. (This is also why it's a quality-of-life mod, rather than a cheat.)

For now, you have to spawn in the amulet with console commands. Type the following (where xx is the load order index of the mod):

player.additem xx000ade

to add it to your inventory.

++Installation++

Since this mod consists of only a .esp plugin, install it with Mod Organizer 2. Don't uninstall my mod while wearing the amulet or you will be stuck with all of the effects!

++Permissions++

Do what you want, but ask me first!

++Future plans++

I will, in probably the only update this mod needs, add the item to the worldspace rather than requiring you to use console commands to get it.

This is babby's first scripting mod, so if I somehow messed up somewhere please let me know!

++Acknowledgements++

Thanks to Obsidian for an RPG masterpiece, Bethesda (reluctantly) for providing the framework used to create it, and Interplay/Black Isle for setting the original stage for the series to shine.
