Starring:
The customized Colt 1911 (aka Colt Government) Gold Cup National Match, as the sidearm of Lieutenant Marion Cobretti, a member of the elite Police division known as the "Zombie Squad" is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge.

Specifications

Caress it with tenderness.

Guest starring:
Suppressor: There was never a suppressor shown in the 1986 movie so I had to invent one. I modeled it after the Thompson Machine ISIS 2.45 Suppressor, which can handle 45 ACP, 40 S&W, 9mm and other calibers.

Text stamps:
Left side:
  • COLT'S MK IV/ SERIES ‘70
  • GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH
  • 45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER

Right side:
  • 9MM CONVERSION UNIT
  • COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN U.S.A.
  • ASGK 2692 4 N70

Also:

  45 AUTO

It is a mid-poly model with the main pistol being ~10k triangles and the silencer adding an extra ~8k triangles.

This was my first really complex 3d model I created from scratch, as I'm not really a modeler/artist but a programmer by training. The film Cobra (1986) is a personal favorite movie of mine and was my main inspiration. I created this over a year ago and I have been enjoying it and now you will too.

Download.
To install use NMM / MO2 (Mod Organizer 2) or similar program.
Or you can install manually by extracting the contained folder (Data) and placing it in the main game directory.

The mod works either with the base New Vegas installation, or with Tale of Two Wastelands (TTW). I personally use TTW 3.2.

How to obtain it?
I could not place the weapon anywhere in the game world using G.E.C.K. as the game would crash on startup. So what is a KeyC0de to do?
Worry not. We will use fnvedit a free utility to get it inside the game.

You can download fnvedit from here. If you want a tutorial there is one here.

Once you download:
  • launch fnvedit
  • load up all your mods including "colt_1911_cobra_fnv.esp" as you normally would (they should be ticked by default)
  • once loading completes find the "colt_1911_cobra_fnv.esp" entry. [+] Expand it. Then expand "Weapon" and note the numberId. Then launch the game, load your save, open up the console (by pressing the tilde "~" button) and type:
> player.additem numberId 1

The image below demonstrates how I find this numberId using fnvedit:

It shouldn't be hard, but should you want further help ask in the comments.

The numberId is different for everyone as it depends on the indivual's mod list & load order, that's why you have to do this on your own.

The mod is compatible with everything.

I've slapped together a demo video. Check it out.
