I like Alton, IL. I also like TTW. I don't like being spammed with new quests I'm not ready for every time that I start a new playthru. Luckily DreamFactorie has us covered! I'll just let them explain what this is mostly about:

Original Mod Description

"I always wanted to play Alton, IL mod (let's call it an unofficial DLC), but it bothered me how it starts as soon as you leave the vault.

Ten seconds into a new adventure and you're hearing rumors the Outcasts need a wastelander's help. WHO ARE THE OUTCASTS?? I know about Megaton and giant ants from the Overseer's computer, but how the hell did I hear a rumor about/from the BOS guys I haven't met yet?

My mod aims to smooth the execution of Alton, IL by allowing the player to reach the Outcast BOS soldiers stationed at Fort Independence, where upon the pop-up message about a rumor will occur, and look much more believable than right outside 101.

I hope you like. I've been meaning to tackle this mod for a while, and I'm 88% sure it doesn't already exist.


NOTE: The original design of Alton, IL was to start upon detecting the Enclave Radio Station. The built in failsafe was to trigger the first quest automatically in case someone loaded the mod for the first time AFTER defeating the Enclave and disabling their radio station. I left this alone. This mod will do nothing if your current play thru is at the point the Enclave are destroyed, and the Alton script will continue as normal with the secondary condition."

All credit for this goes to DreamFactorie, I just ran the mod thru the TTW Conversion Script and Recompiled the script in the GECK.

*Sidenote: The GECK keeps saving cells that this mod doesn't reference for some reason. It seems to be included in the original mod, but I went ahead and cleared them.
