About this mod

Just a set of weapon meshes I fiddled around with. Includes FO3 weapons with modified, fully functional iron sights, weapons with triangulation errors fixed, minuscule optimizations, and adjusted shapes to better fit vanilla and Asurah animations. Newest screenshots are usually at the back.

Fallout: New Vegas

.22 Pistol; Chamber reamed out, optimizations made.

.22 SMG; Slight optimizations, sights unified regardless of normal or extended magazine.

9mm Pistol; Slight optimizations. Pocket pistol version included in the Uniques folder, named DarknessShrouding.nif

Maria; Ditto. No pocket pistol version.

9mm SMG; Reshaped slightly for Asurahs reanimations. Turned into an M3A1. Doesn't strictly conflict with vanilla animations though. Magazine
moved forward slightly, ejection port and bolt lengthened backwards
slightly.

10mm Pistol; Chamber reamed out, slight optimizations.

10mm SMG; Heavy optimizations. Magazine position adjusted, rear sight added.

Hunting Shotgun; Moderate optimizations. Shell size increased, and changed to use the red hull texture that the caravan shotgun used. It appears the shell was sized, and colored, to appear as a 20 gauge. A sawn off version, with and without a choke is also present as a loose nif in the Uniques folder.

Caravan Shotgun: Moderate optimizations. Reduced the height of the screw so one can actually use the front sight, though not crystal clearly. A specular map was constructed for it (Albiet from two different greyscales, rather than something more professional), and it was changed to use a yellow version of the shotgun shell texture to reflect its chambering. Sawn off version included in the Uniques folder!

Single Shotgun: Minor optimizations. Bore size reduced to better fit the 20 gauge shell its loaded with. Texture changed to use the yellow hull texture. Sawn off version included in the Uniques folder!

Laser RCW; Glowy bits added, slight optimizations.

Laser Pistol; Some holes filled, lots of optimization.

Light Machine gun; Sights swapped, charging handle straightened to better fit vanilla and Asurah animations.

Sniper Rifle; Heavy optimizations. Carbon fiber body mod has more drastic weight reductions visually.

Sawed Off Shotgun; Uses the Point Lookout shotgun receiver and barrels cut down to make it look beefier and not oval. Also uses the 2handrifle red shotgun shells instead of the paper hull 1handpistol ones.

That Gun; Triangulation errors fixed, chambers given a conical shape, corrected wrong environment map being applied to the extractor. (The
brass one, same as the shells.)

This Machine; Bolt modified to line up with chamber, which was modified to line up with the barrel.

Assault Carbine, Service Rifle, Marksman Carbine; Fore-ends narrowed to not clip. Forward assists removed to closer resemble AR-10s (Though admittedly those did have a charging handle in the carry handle), bolts brought out so charging handle produces. Marksman carbine now uses the same mags as the other ones for normal and extended, and the rails on the fore-end were modified to not clip. RIP banana mag.

Varmint Rifle; Modified to appear as if it chambered .22 Rimfire. An integrally suppressed unique version is included in the Uniques folder.

Dead Money

Police Pistol; Barrel now goes through the frame. A slot was cut out for the hammer to reside in, and a groove was cut out of the top frame to act as a rear sight. Front sight was lowered to match, and sighting node brought down to line up sensibly.

Automatic Rifle; Reshaped in small ways to better work with Asurah animations. Blend includes lots of variant bits. M1918, A1, and A2 bipods. Original, Colt Monitor and Jungle BAR barrels, carry handle, butt plate, original, 308 length, and 308 length 20 round mag options, as well as battle or ladder rear sight. The provided NIF uses the original barrel, an A1 bipod, the ladder sight, carry handle and 308 length short magazine that doesn't clip with vanilla animations.

Honest Hearts

.45 Auto Pistol; Chamber reamed and barrel fitted through. Optimizations made. Supplied NIFs use the cut normal sights instead of the combat ones. Magazine heavily modified to be somewhat believable. A greyscale of the diffuse is used as a rudimentary specular map.

.45 SMG; Some optimizations. Rear sight created from the folded down piece, using the peep hole sight instead of the top notch. A greyscale of the diffuse is used as a rudimentary specular map.

Lonesome Road

Bowie Knife; The blade was too thick and I couldn't stand it anymore. A few hours down the drain but a few hours I won't have to spend again!

H&H Nailgun; Barrel shroud under the receiver remade from scratch. No more gaps. Some optimizations, cocking lever removed. Somewhat prettier now.


Gun Runners Arsenal

25mm APW: Optimizations, added a front sight, and a rear sight, for that matter. I was unable to fix a UV error on the right side of the receiver above the ejection port, but the ESP fixes the texture error that applies the weapons texture to the 25mm shell.

Laser Pistol (GRA); Same treatment as base laser pistol. .blend isn't really usable right now, but the gun should work fine! Combat sights are now usable in combat, and outside of it too.

5.56 Pistol; Triangulation errors fixed, chambers given a conical shape, corrected wrong environment map being applied to the extractor. (The brass one, same as the shells.)


Fallout 3

Chinese Assault Rifle; Heavy optimizations, rear sight aligned with the front. Magazine modified to have feed lips, its position adjusted. Receiver was modified to have a bolt. Short barrel version included for the TTW mod, and a unique version included as well that I made for fun.

American Assault Rifle; Some optimizations, but possibly outweighed by the modifications I made. Receiver is now symmetrical, gas tub was reduced in diameter to fit into the receiver, ejection port is now more pronounced, and the groundwork is there for the bolt inside the ejection port to reciprocate. Not sure if I set it up that way though.

Chinese Pistol; Chamber reamed out. Probably not too believable, but theres a hole there now and the bolt fits into a slot. Stripper clip now uses modified .357 Magnum rounds from NV. Bullets are a bit flat for 9x19, but perhaps appropriate considering its communist that it looks like 9x18. Also optimizations.

Combat Shotgun; Port moved forward, but still on the side.

Sawed Off Shotgun; Same as the one in New Vegas but with a UV for the Fallout 3 textures on the gun itself, not the shells. They'll still need the textures from New Vegas if used in fallout 3.

Lincoln Rifle and Lever Action Rifle: Reshaped barrel to be smaller in diameter than the magazine tube. Bored both through into the chamber. Moved rear sight up and folded it down, cut a notch to create a sort of battle sight as accurately as I could to what seems like the Henry Rifle.

Point Lookout

Double-barrel Shotgun; Latch modified so you can use the front sight now. Uses 2handrifle shotgun shells from New Vegas and will require the textures for it if used in FO3. A sawn-off version is included.


To-do:

.44 Magnum revolvers. Gotta wrap my head around that GO system that it uses. Not to mention FO3 and the Mysterious Magnum use different UVs.
FO3/NV .44 Magnums and Police Pistol, sans Mysterious Magnum, will get remade in a few years. Then the Mysterious Magnum might get done, maybe.
