READ THIS FIRST: This is only an ESP. The assets (models and textures) were made by Mindboggles and are in the New California mod. The ESP does not depend on New California's master ESM, but you still need the assets. However New California is over 7GB, and if you don't want that mod sitting on your harddrive you can do the following:
- Download New California. - Make a dummy folder (like C:\dummy). - Copy FalloutNV.exe from your New Vegas install to C:\dummy. - Install New California to C:\dummy. - Extract the Rattlesnake assets from "New California - Meshes.bsa" and "New California - Textures2.bsa" with FOMM or with BSARCH. The assets in the BSA files are located in "meshes\creatures\rattlesnake" and "textures\creatures\rattlesnake". - Copy the rattlesnake meshes and textures to your meshes and texture folders of your New Vegas installation. - Delete the dummy folder.
I mean i just wanted to comment that this mod is awsome but downloading like 5-10gb with no premium right now to get this is 2 much , then i wondered if some blessed guy like u is in here. your a king
Recently added this and the Creepy Crawlies Mod, and I gotta say… I absolutely cannot play New Vegas without ANY of your creature and wildlife mods! Very underrated creature mods, if not THE MOST underrated! Highly recommend these creature mods with Vurt’s Wasteland Flora and Terrain Overhaul Mod!
I really hope we get more animals in the future, mutated or otherwise — especially foxes, javelinas, and deer! It’s up to you though, whenever you feel like it.
So I used BSA Browser 1.12.4 to grab the meshes/textures folders directly from the N.Cal. mod, which broke down thus: ex.: meshes/creatures/rattlesnake/ textures/creatures/rattlesnake/, and extracted both rattlesnake folders over to the corresponding folders within the Data folder of my game directory. And of course activated your .esp in NMM. Was this a correct method?
Thank you, btw for bringing these serpents to life in the Mojave Wastelands!!
I used to actually live there (in the actual Mojave; an old "desert rat" from way back when. I was one of those guys who ran around capturing Rattlers, particularly the "Mojave Green", "Mojave Red", and the "Panamint Red" species, for their venom, to be sold (for the making of antivenin).

EDIT: Verified - snakes are alive and well in-game, so obviously what I did WAS correct. I knew the folder/file placement was right - I just wasn't sure the BSA Browser was the right tool for the job. Apparently it is.
So i followed the instructions and extracted the meshes and textures. So far the meshes are working for the snakes but the textures are messed up, i extracted rattlesnake_d.dds and rattlesnake_n.dds, wondering if i missed something from the textures2.bsa
