DESCRIPTION

This mod enables the 'PC Level Mult' flag on all NPCs that do not currently use it, so that they can level up with the player. The primary purpose of this mod is to allow NPCs to better utilise items in leveled lists provided by other mods, though I will continue to make changes based on feedback from running this mod for an extended time during a playthrough. I have grouped NPCs from the base game into tiers; low, medium, high and boss. Each tier has a different level multiplier and minimum and maximum levels. NPCs from any other mods you are using will be affected by this mod as well.

Low tier NPCs have a level multiplier of 0.75, a minimum level of 1 and a maximum level of 15.
This tier will include unnamed NPCs in non combat-oriented roles such as settlers, travelers, farmers, caravaneers, gamblers, refugees and junkies etc. It also includes unnamed NPCs from Goodsprings, Primm, Novac, Westside, Freeside and The Strip. Lastly it includes the unnamed NPCs from the NCRCF Powder Gangers, Primm's escaped convicts, Primm's NCR troopers, the Followers of the Apocalypse and members of the Viper, Jackal and Scorpions gangs.

The medium tier NPCs have a level multiplier of 1.00, a minimum level of 5 and a maximum level of 25.
This tier will include unnamed NPCs in combat oriented roles such as guards, mercenaries, prospectors and travelling merchants etc. It also includes named NPCs from the NCRCF Powder Gangers, Primm's escaped convicts, Primm's NCR troopers, the Followers of the Apocalypse, the Boomers, the Casino families and leaders of the Viper, Jackal and Scorpions gangs. Also included are unnamed NCR troopers and named troopers who hold the rank of private, recruit and prime legionaries and decanus', legion explorers and both named and unnamed Brotherhood initiates and scribes and unnamed knights. Lastly it includes unnamed NPCs from the Fiends, Great Khans, Van Graffs, Vault 19 Powder Gangers and the Westside Militia.

The high tier NPCs have a level multiplier of 1.25, a minimum level of 15 and a maximum level of 35.
This tier includes named NPCs from the NCR as well as unnamed rangers and heavy troopers, named NPCs from the legion as well as unnamed NPCs who hold the rank of veteran, centurion, vexillarius and praetorian and named NPCs from the Brotherhood as well as unnamed paladins. Also included is Raquel, Swank, Benny, Mortimer, Big Sal and Nero. Lastly it includes named NPCs from the Fiends, Great Khans, Van Graffs and the Vault 19 Powder Gangers.

The boss tier NPCs have a level multiplier of 1.50, a minimum level of 30 and maximum level of 50.
This tier is reserved for the leaders of the major factions. It includes General Oliver, Colonel Moore, Colonel Hsu and Chief Hanlon for the NCR. Caesar, Legate Lanius, Lucius, Vulpes Inculta and Aurelius of Phoenix for the Legion. Also included are Motor Runner for the Fiends, Papa Khan for the Great Khans and both McNamara and Hardin for the Brotherhood.

Any NPC not manually put into one of these tiers, which will generally be NPCs from other mods, will have a level multiplier of 1.00, a minimum level of 1 and a maximum level of 50. During my testing it appears that mods which place the same base NPC records that this mod affects, or includes NPC records that use the base NPC records as templates, such as The Living Desert, will have their NPCs placed into the appropriate tiers as described above.

This mod has been completely re-written as of V3 based on player feedback. The auto-calc stats flag is now unaltered by this mod, to prevent removing manual skill offsets to NPCs. There are also now checks in place so that this mod will never lower an NPCs level multiplier, minimum or maximum levels if they were intended to be higher than those determined by the tiers in this mod.

If you use a mod which removes the level cap or allows the player to level past 50, you can enter 'Set NPCLONoMaxLevel to 1' into the console, and then either load a save or change cells. This will set the max level of all NPCs to 5350, the max level allowed by the game I believe. Their level multiplier and minimum levels will not be affected. To remove this feature follow the same procedure but replace the 1 with a 0.

Finally this mod also causes NPCs that are not set to respawn to re-evaluate their inventory if they are revisited again by the player at a later level. This allows NPCs you meet early on in the game the chance to gain better equipment if you visit them again. This also has the added benefit of removing the partly full health bar issues from earlier versions. All vanilla companions are excluded from this feature, so they do not unequip apparel you have given them. This currently includes all the vanilla companions, as well as Willow, Delilah, Sunny Smiles, Niner, Russell, Desmond Harper, Melissa Lewis, Sarah Weintraub, Vanessa, Hope, Wendy Gilbert, Lunette and Vulpes Inculta if you use any of those companion mods.
